But nowhere close to how scary it is knowing nothing is working. And everytime a twinge hits you knowing you can't stop it if it wants to come along and kick your ass. Knowing that you can't put one of them off, let alone a bunch of them off, with prophylactics. Knowing you're down to only one abortive and even that last one you have will soon no longer help you and that in the meantime it now always spikes your pain at first, but sometimes will abort it eventually. Now that part is really scary. Knowing whether it helps or not, it will spike the pain regardless. And you just sit there praying for this to be one of the times it will work and not just fuck you.
Yes. It is scary being a guinea pig. But at least it gives one a hope of "maybe this time." And sometimes hope is all we have left to make it through the day.
