a friend of mine once said something to the effect of you gots to pick and choose what you need here and pass on the rest of it... and something about all the rest being just black squiggles on the screen. Hell, I don't feel welcome anywhere, sometimes. This is, after all, a vast assortment of folks and none of us could possibly fit in with everyone. The test of time tells more about visitors than anything. The underlying sagas of some of the regulars here is fascinating reading. I never knew, for example, that some things deemed worthless by the medical community and by our own government have been used for countless centuries in combatting head pain of both the migraine and cluster variety, depression, and even PMS with alarming success. I didn't realize that the reason I suffer from this nightmare had something to do with a neurological defect...something as simple as a timing mechanism in my brain. I didn't learn that from swapping recipes, or taking stabs or making jokes, or fitting in. If I died tonight, few here would notice, but for the few months I've been here, I'm all the richer for having found this place. Most of us don't have an impact on this little segment of the telecommunications industry, but oh what an impact it's had on us.
