I am 46 now and have been suffering from CH since I was 17. It was not untill 10 years ago that I began to document the regularity and frenquency of the headaches and begin to research to find out what I was actually suffering from. Doctors had misdiagnosed me with all of the usual things, sinus, stress, etc. When I read an article on headaches that described clusters I finally knew. There is no way to describe a CH to a doctor who has not had one or seen a person have one. I now have a doctor who has had CH and truely understands. For the past two cycles I have treated them with Prednisone,10 mg ,3 times daily. My CH come every two years in the fall and this is the year. I plan to try oxygen this time instead of the Prednisone. I discovered a preventive cure that works for me and am interested if anyone else has tried it. When I feel the "aura" or "shadow" comming on, usually upon waking, I go into my small office and turn the electric heat up high. It seems that the hot dry heat stops an attack if I catch it in time. I would like to hear from anyone else who finds that this works for them.
