I have suffered clusters over 10 years and hav been chronic the last seven. I have also suffred migraines since a teen. Having a CH is bad enough alone but never made me ill ie:vomiting and such. However when having a bad migraine then getting a cluster at the same time would leave me not holding down food for weeks sometimes. The dehydration and no food would usually end me up in the hospital for a while. After my neuro saw how well I responded to opiate meds. He sentme to a pain clinic to try methadone or ?? I was put on methadone and titrated up weekly for3 months and went from 4-6 3 hour attacks each day to less the 6 each week with another med (fentynal) in a sucker that would drop the pin from a 10 to a 4 or so in 20 minutes. However my migraines were affectd somehow with the clusters (even though they are not even close to the same thing at all) and I have'nt been able to work much. The last several months Were almost continually with migraine pain and 5-6 clusters each week. Because of the continual vomiting my enamel on my teeth was ruined and I have just begun last years to fix my teeth. 3 weeks ago I had a crooked tooth pulled and for the 2nd time they found the nerves to be compressed in bone. After healing th migraines went away almost completely which left me with vey well controlled clusters with th methadone. I am full time back at my business which is so fun and I am so grateful for all the help I found on this board. Thanks all!!! Mike L
