I should have known to look at the survey results...

It seems cases where clusterheads start out chronic are not rare at all. And that's what has me worried.

I have less than a year's experience with the beast, and I assumed at first I was episodic, since most are. But it is possible I am chronic since my first cycle hasn't ended yet, it seems, and it started nine months ago. It's also possible I am episodic, but my cycles are very long. And it's possible I am simply misreading the signs.

A short, boring history:

In late April 2001, I got this wierd, nasty headache. Scary, but it ended in a little over an hour, and I didn't have another one...for about a week. Then the beast started to visit every third night or so, then every other night, then every night, then sometimes during the day, too. Then I learned the Name of the Beast.

I used the waterX3 treatment with some success, and the episode seemed in decline. Then I stomped the beast with tea ingedients (tho I didn't make them into tea) and got two months relief. The beast returned, and I quickly used the same treatment to keep the beast away another two months. The beast returned a third time, and I chased him off again. That was about a month ago.

After the treatments, I still have shadows and a few mild attacks on occasion...they seem to slowly fade for a month, then slowly increase again for a month before frequent full-blown attacks return.

I'm starting to suspect my cycle never ended, I'm merely suppressing it with treatment. And it seems starting off chronic isn't as rare as I hoped it would be...

I guess time will tell...
