Is anyone familiar with along family history of clusterh.

Allso some uncles, cousins etc. (all from father side of the family) suffer from clusterh.

I never heard this before and cluster isn't now as a family happening.
So I was wondering are we the lucky ones ???

Ninet: From everything I've been able to find CH is not supposed to be hereditary. However, my father has both migraines and CH just like I do. As far as I know, that's all for my "blood kin".

Just found out a couple of days ago that my daughter in law is also a clusterhead.

The articles I've read say CH is 10 to 20 times more frequent in relatives of a clusterhead than in the general public.

I hope you guys have filled out the Heredity Survey on the OUCH Surveys page.

Hi Netniet, There is nobody else in my family that has ever had CH so I guess I was picked to be the lucky one. Sad

I believe the IHS is supporting the idea that approx 7% of clusterheads carry a dominate gene contributing to their disease.  The final draft of the IHS proposed revision of the diagnostic guidelines contained the information, but I haven't seen the new official guidelines yet to be sure that it was kept.  Last I read, they were planning to publish the new guidelines in January.
