Read anything by Barbara Kingsolver. Also, Peter Beagle, such as "A Fine and Private Place". It's quite unusual, and he'll grab you and keep you with him 'til the last page.

James Patterson........ 1st To Die (there's a sequel to this one..I forgot what) Kiss The Girls Roses are Red Violets are Blue Cat and Mouse Four Blind Mice Any of Patterson's books about the Detective, Alex Cross, are GREAT!!!! I agree with Floridian....Dan Brown is very good also. Also Steve Martini....Robert Ludlum....Stuart Woods Oh my .........too many books, not enough time LOL Jean

If you want a good laugh and something real light to read for your vacation...any ot the Stephanie Plum novels by Janet Evonavich. She is laugh out loud funny! If you like gruesome stories, try the Patricia Cornwell "Dr Scarpetta" novels or Kathy Reichs. They are both excellent. Have fun! hugs Ann

I agree with TXbasslady! James Patterson's Alex Cross series is excellent! I can't get enough of them. Hubby and I both read Patterson. The Alphabet Mysteries (I think that is what they are called) by Sue Grafton is a good set too. A is for Alibi is the first one, I think she is up to O now. Good books.
