I start sweating on the back of my neck just before an attack.  I seem to sweat alot all over during an attack.  Is it just me, or does anyone else have this happen?

Seems to me that during cycle I sweat buckets, especially in the pits, and especially on the side my attack occurs.

Coincidence?  I have no freaking idea.  Maybe I just have poor personal hygene?

Perhaps, not a common part of clusters, but facial "blooming"/sweating is, sometimes, listed as an part of an  attack.

Personally, during an attack i experience hot flushes and profound sweating all over my head- sometimes whole upper body.

According to the International Headache Society cluster headache attacks could be accompanied by forehead and facial sweating (it's one of the symptoms they list in the 2nd edition of The International Classification Of Headache disorders- maybe someone could provide a link to that).

Hope this helps,
PFDAN to all,
Perry.

Disturbed autonomic nervous system - part and parcel of a cluster attack, although the exact manifestations and degree varies from person to person.

Quote:
Physical: The association of prominent autonomic phenomena is a hallmark of CH. Such signs include ipsilateral nasal congestion and rhinorrhea, lacrimation, conjunctival hyperemia, facial diaphoresis, palpebral edema, and complete or partial Horner syndrome (which may persist between attacks). Tachycardia is a frequent finding.

Quote:
Autonomic symptoms: ipsilateral facial sweating, & flushing, tearing, blockage of nose.

http://neuroland.com/ha/cluster.htm

The standard description includes only the most common and obvious signs - for many here, the pain can creep down the jaw or neck, or otherwise spread.

I sweat alot when I am getting hit.  I keep ice packs ready for just that reason and lay them across my neck, top of head and side of face.  It helps try it some time.

When I'm getting hit, I have a feeling of upper body overheating. I will often take off the shirt, get in front of a fan, or even get into a cool shower, depending on the dance.

When in cycle, I sweat like a bohemoth - its insane.

Thanks for the replies folks.  I was use to sweating when being woke at night, but last Sunday, it was in the high 40's and I found myself outside wearing only a pair of cut-off's, and still sweating.  It was a real head-banger in the afternoon.  Not till the CH began to subside, did I feel the cold.  Its probally a good thing I have no neighbors within sight of the house.  They would think I am crazy.  I do some strange things during an attack sometimes.  Thanks again for your responses.

Well I guess I'm not a lady because I sweat like crazy when I am in cycle - I'm not ashamed to admit it, ok well maybe a little.  Take a shower at least 2 times a day while in cycle because I "glisten" so dang much!  Grin

Yes I sweat also...didnt realise till I just read this as I was so consumed with the pain, I thought maybe my body was working overtime and didnt take it into concideration. I didnt even tell my doctor about it. (he is a fucking jerk, left me misdiagnosed and undiagnosed for 8 years of hell)  maybe im the jerk for not changing doctors.
Now its brought up..yes I ve noticed I do sweat...however since ive been on oxygen  life has been so much better.

When I'm getting hitting I also have issues with hot flashes!  It is as though my thermostat is messed up!  I'm not talking just my head and neck either.

I only get hot flashes at times that I'm getting hit!  Huh

I don't sweat----ever. Just before a CH my face and neck get red---but no sweat. I have often thought this
might have something to do with the CH condition to begin with------I do keep hydrated w/ water and juice.
The Dr. says nothing can be done----I'm special---2 problems with no answer---no sweat & CH.
