I'll reply, I may be the only one, and old too, but I know Scott is former "west sider" and JDH is from around here.

or went to Edgewater Amusement Park.
Bob-Lo boat, no, the parents didn't take us but frequented Edgewater Park when my friend's older sister had boyfriends she didn't like take her there, she'd insist he take her younger brother and me along. The Wild Mouse was the cool but the old wooden roller coaster was the best with hands up all the way around, about 20 times in a row.
.....You shopped at Hughes and Hatcher, B Siegel, Peck and Peck, Himelhoch's, Robert Hall, Crowley's, Shoppers Fair, EJ Korvettes or Federals.
Hughes Hatcher was the place for jeans in grade school. The elevator door to basement was opened half way down and I have lots of writing on the walls there. Robert Hall was suits and good clothes, never went there. Shopper's Fair was the K-Mart of it's day, Korvette's was the place for albums and Federals for fishing lures. Stole from both places, caught at Korvettes, last time I ever stole.
.....You remember the "Big Snow", Buffalo Bob, Howdy Doody, Clarabelle, Phineas T.Bluster, Princess Summer-Fall-Winter-Spring.
Only Howdy Doody on a slow cartoon day, my sister liked Clarabelle.
.....You remember Twin Pines Dairy delivered milk and juice to the chute on the side of your house and Milky the Clown performed magic with the magic words "Twin Pines".
Yep, had a milk shute but we ordered from the competing Home Juice Co. instead of the more upscale Twin Pines. Milky the Clown was the mainstay field trip for all cub scout troops. We were bad and didn't get to go.
.....You remember the Good Humor man in a white uniform, ringing the bells as he drove down your street.
Of course the Good Humor ice cream truck. The ringing bells beat any Pavlov's dog conditioned response.
.....You remember Olympia Stadium.
Sure, to young to know much but Chicago was the only games I went to. Just watched #9 on both teams; Gordie Howe and Bobby Hull. Saw concerts there in early seventies.
.....You remember when Vernors was made on Woodward Ave., and a bearded gnome was on the bottle.
Just knew the best ice cream floats were Vernor's ginger ale and vanilla ice cream.
.....Your Mom got groceries at Great Scott, Food Fair, Wrigley's or Chatham.
Mom shopped at Food Fair by us and I got in the meat cutter's union for eight years at Chatham during college. Worked with Mike Skill of Romantics there. Friend's worked at Great Scott during high school and had money for cool cars.
.....Your Mom saved Holden Red Stamps, S&H Green stamps, or Gold Bell Gift stamps, and you licked them into those little books.
yep, I think I got a $25.00 government bond from mom's savings.
.....Kresge's and Woolworth's were "Dime Stores".
.....You had an uncle in the furniture business (Joshua Door).
Yep, hung out at Cunninghams though at the soda fountain. Kresge's became K-Mart.
.....You know who Bill Kennedy is.
Yep, the after school movie host. He knew tons of Hollywood trivia about the stars in the show.
.....You remember Black Bart and the Faygo song. Or how about "Which way did he go? He went for Faygo, old fashion root beer".
Got to go to the Faygo factory for a cub scout field trip.
.....You watched Rita Bell's! prize movies in the morning.
Morning movie host with call in to guess songs bites.
.....You remember Milky the Clown,
Soupy Sales, Johnny Ginger, Poopdeck Paul, Captain Jolly, Sagebrush Shorty and maybe even Sergeant Sakto Salute.
Soupy, Poopdeck, and Jolly traded days of the week as cartoon hosts. Sister was on Poopdeck's show as spelling bee winner. They showed Popeye. Johnny Ginger my absolute favorite in the morning, at 7am. Woke up and turned on the 25" Motorola box every morning for him. He was a quirky bellhop in a hotel

Iwas born in beaumont hospital, lived in birmingham till I was 12. I remember all those places.
I hope your not saying they dont exist anymore. I havent been back there in at least 20 years.

Took the bob-lo boat ride and loved motown music ever since. I really don't remember the park though, the dancing on the upper deck was the strongest memory 
I was VERY small as a child, and my parents used to put me thru the milk chute at my grandparents house to go in and unlock the door when we went to visit and they weren't home. I never really grew much, but I don't know how I ever fit thru it!
You hung out at Cunninghams????? Wow, so did I! But I was around 10.
Vernors STILL makes the best float and still makes ya burp your brains out
Kresge's was a part of my childhood, as was Great Scott and Drugland on 7 mi. Stole way more than my share of candy- never got caught but have lived with the guilt my entire adult life.
I don't remember the name of the dept store, but there was this elevator there, really small, and we used to open the doors before it reached the floor and we'd either write on the wall, or hop out of the elevator. That was at Livonia Mall.
Remember Sir Graves Ghastly on Saturdays? I spent most of my early childhood scared sh*tless over Frankenstein and Dracula and any number of Vincent Price movies.
Or Charles Chips delivery? Or the bagel shop on the corner of 7 mile and middlebelt-best friggin bagel for 7 cents? Or phone numbers like Dearborn5-##### ?
The whole page above is a very weird reminder of my youth, and god I feel so old!
I haven't been to them physically in years, but they will always exist in my mind's eye.
I'm so glad I got to share that page with you

Geez, even I remember a couple of those things.... Good god man, am I THAT old?
oh yeah, and BTW not ALL of those things are solely Detroit or Mich. A few of em are All Midwest.

I grew up on the St. Clair River (in Canada) right across from Marine City, my uncle owned the ferry there, so we used to go over all the time. I remember boblo and edgewater, was at both a couple of times, I saw a show at Olympia Theater, and of course verners, we used to ride across on the ferry just to get a bottle (back in the days when they had the big pop coolers and it actually came in bottles), I remember Kresge's and Woolworths, used to go over there shopping with our allowance all the time (the exchange rate used to be worthwhile to do that), and I remember all the commercials on TV about the uncle in the furniture business! And wasn't General Tire there...with the song that ended "When you own general", never actual saw the Lions play, but definitely remember Tiger Stadium, and OMG Faygo!!! Man did that take me back, Soupy Sales and Captain Jolly frequented our living room on our black and white TV (that we watched Elvis' last concert on....man) And Detroit Edison was always fascinating, but my favorite place was Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village.
*sigh* those were the days....

Not to throw a glitch in the good memories but one of my largest memories as a child was the 67 riots in Detroit.
My father ran a large plant in the downtown area. I had gone to work on a saturday with him to play in everyone elses stuff. The riots had moved directly in the streets outside. Tanks were rolling just outside the windows, people running, sirens blaring. My father got us a police escort out of there that night. I had never seen pops show fear but as a child I saw it that night and that vision has stuck with me all my life.
That is the year we moved out of there.
