Not really Unsolved. I was in the military when my Clusters started. I never really went to a REAL doc until 4 years later. Just toughed out each & every one until finally my wife convinced me to push for a civilian Neuro paid by the militray to take a look. I was amazed. She new immediately it was Clusters. No one else ever had any idea what it was that knocked the shit out of me each & every day. I just lived with it. Glad to see he came to his senses. Good luck finding a good prevent & abortive.

I agree...  There is nothing worse than experiencing this crap and having it downplayed as "just a HA" by a doc so much that you start believing them.  It was enough to prevent me from seeing the bastards for a long time.  Hindsight, being what it is, shows that my stance was wrong.  That doesn't change the past though.
 
Military docs are not on the cutting edge of medical treatment/diagnosis.  The army would definitely be the exception to that.
