I have been a Cluster headache suffer for over twenty years. From about 1997 till 2000 they were chronic I was using a lot of O2 and imitrex. In 2000 I discovered I had Heart diease and had two stints put in to keep the blockage open also around that time I had been takeing Verapamil and the Doctor added Inderal and the Headaches stopped. Its has been four years with out a headache I thought for sure I was cured. About six months ago Doctor put me on Niaspan 1000mg to get my HDLs up every thing seemed to be going fine till two weeks ago and the Clusters are back they started miled but are getting more intense. Here one of the bad things the Doctor does not want me to use imitrex, so Iam trying to control the beast with O2 and fioricert, the fioricet does not work worth a darn. Great job DJ has done with this sight it has really grown in four years and Ill keep reading for new ideas do not know what to try now. (Thanks DJ great services for us Cluster suffers)

Welcome back Scooter. Sorry to hear that your CH's have returned. I'm surprised that your doc doesn't want you to try Imitrex. Every doc I've been to about this, the first thing they suggest is Imitrex. Although it doesn't work for me most CHer"s swear by it. How come he doesn't want you to use it?

Hope you find what you need to control the beast.
Have you tried melatonin? You might read up on some of the posts where it is discussed. Seems to help alot of folks here.
