Someone is knockin at the door..........

Someone is ringin the bell............

So here I go again. Was PF for the day (after 10am or so) and felt pretty good, but tired. Relpax is the thing for me apparently, but now B is sniffing around my head trying to get in. A little here - a little there, so I popped a frova to attempt to get som sleep later and I have my O2 at thre ready. O2 doesn't seem to do anything to my shadows so I sit here and wait. Just f-in great.

My wife said to me as I got up to ready the tank "This time is really no fun" and I was like "you ain't kidding".

Last night I didn;t make it out of bed and cried like a baby - hate to do that in front of her and I will be seriously pissed if it happens in front of my beautiful children.

Mayday! Mayday! Captain, the ship, she can't take much more of this!

Please send some PF energy my way tonight: I got some verapamil and more Relpax waiting for me at Walgreens tomorrow - hopefully things will begin to shape up then.

Jamey

Jamey:

I'll pray that you get a break.

Please don't mix triptans within 24 hours, the effects could be very bad.

Wishing you the best,

Ray

My empathies to you! It's an awful feeling when you just know one's coming on, isn't it.

Do you find yourself getting all the 'just in case' stuff ready and organized ahead of time?
Each thing in a specific place so you can reach for and find it even when your eyes are closed from the pain?

Here are the two things I've found that helped relieve a lot of the pain(s): ice chips and holding my breath and mouth breathing. Don't puff up your cheeks just hold your breath and then let it out slooooowly through your mouth.
So far the one and only medication that has totally put my ch into remission is Depakote and even that took just over  week of taking it on a very regulated schedule to take effect.
I swear that the ice chips held way back in my throat about where my wisdom teeth used to be saved my sanity this time around.

Horrid little buggers that's for sure.

Hi Jamey,

PF VIBES are coming your way.

How soon after you took Frova did the attack come on? That stuff is supposed to have a half life of 25 hours.  But it can take over 3 hours to become effective.

Relpax has a quicker time of onset time of 1 1/2 hours.

Like the others said, mixing Frovatriptan and Eletriptan within 24 hours has not been tested clinically.  So be very careful.

The lone exception to this rule is clinical experience mixing Sumatriptan with the longer acting triptans like Naratriptan but this is done for individuals that have high rates of reattack.  The idea is knock it down with Imitrex and keep it down with Naratriptan.

Anyway, I hope things settle down for you soon.

Thanks gang! Yeah I wait a day-ish before swtiching trips.

These things are the stupidest things in the world. The night before last I was hammered 4-5 times, real rockers. Last night I had one and the O2 knocked it down fairly quick.

I did manage to take 4 melotonins before I ran to the tanks. I doubt they ahd anything to do with the )2 working better again but could that have staved off the rest of them all night long?

If that is the case then me and melaronin are best buds! Can't wait to try again tonight! Well I can wait, but I am excited at the propostion that something is going to work! I am just as likely to credit the PF thoughts of you guys though, as a small does of something so simple.

I also picked up my verapamil and reluctantly took one. WTF.

Taking verapamil only at the onset of an attack as an abortive is about useless.  Verap doesn't have an abortive effect.  It has to build up in your system and then has to be maintained at a certain level to remain effective.  You might as well have popped a tic-tac.

Oh yeah, sorry - I am blurring my threads together.

In a different thread I lamented about going back on Verapamil and pred taper. I didn't take it as an abortive, but the statement was rather a sign of my giving in to do something I didn't really want to do.

sorry for the confusion

Hey Ree! Good to see you again and THANKS.

The good wishes seem to be working - I just went 24 hrs PF!!!! I dubt it is because of the 2 Veraps I just took - I am sure they have not built up any power yet.

I am doing Melatonin for the first time.

Night one - one small attack - a redcution from 4 big ones

Night two - No effect at all!

Night three - took an additional one and was PF!

Can this stuff work so fast?!?!?
