Now,,,,,my DH is getting headaches during the day and shadows at night - thank god not big ones that can't be handled, but there is a change..is this a normal thing? and....I think migraines are involved also, because he does have a sensitivity to light and doesn't like the sun anymore.......this is getting curiouser and curiouser - he's still not ready for the doctor - ice pack around his head worked last night - not a biggie - but enough to scare him into thinking it was going to be big....when will it end? in the middle of night he woke with shadows once or twice - but was able to go back to sleep right away...I'm too frustrated for words - I guess I did a good job anyway - frustrated or not!!! Embarassed

Lady, if you're hanging with him through this you are doing far better then a "good" job, most would cut and run. People like you rock!

I don't like sunlight at all, either when I'm shadowing heavy or getting hit. Not sure it makes my head hurt more but it makes me angry like a raging anger, if that makes sense. Have you talked him into trying the energy drinks yet? Like I said before, we men can be a whisker stubborn at first!

Oh yeah, rockstar, amp - any one of those help - when he's working outside he MUST wear his sunglasses now.....I wonder how much of this may be migraine related - when this began 5 weeks ago the sun didn't bother him - but he didn't have the sensitivity on his scalp either - I guess it's taking a toll -  confused2

If your doing ice packs and getting the late night wake up calls, its time for the doctor. But if he wishes not to go, get him some melatonin it may help for the night hits. What about the oxygen?? there are so many more weapons now you can turn to that will save you a dance with the beast, and if you can aviod even 1 cluster it's all the better. I was the same way though, i did not see the doctor untill week 8. What a mistake.!! All that needless suffering for what?? but thats just me, and i do hope his headaches ease up. Feel better. coach bill.

Since my cycles have become worse over the last 5 years I have noticed that I can not tolerate bright light either. Even when I am not in cycle really bright sun glare seems to be intolerable. I am always afraid it is going to trigger an attack. When I get the Kip 9 and 10's light is totaly out of the question. I think that is one thing that keeps me away from the ER. I would rather die or have my eyeball plucked out than have them shine a light in it! Shocked

For some reason reflected or bright glaring light (Sun, headlights, flashlights) has a very bad effect on a lot of us.
Same holds true with small indicator lights or flashing lights like on an appliance or electronics when caught from the corner of your eye.

I am glad you guys brought this up. I just thought it was some wierd problem that only I had. I have kinda wondered over the last few years if it was some kind of tell, tell sign that I would end up with Glaucoma or something. Glad to hear that it is most likely CH related.

Maybe the light has got something to do with the horton syndrome.
Horton is in our eyeball en that's related to light.

Maybe it's got something to do with this....maybe Undecided

My husband has been sensitive to light with all of his cluster episodes...they increase his shadow and create an attack if he is not careful.  He too had to put electrical tape on the phone light, cover the dvd light, etc.

Unfortunately he was a stubborn one for doctors...began clusters at 16 and never saw a doctor for them until I found him crying in the fetal position from an attack at age 28.  I hope your husband seeks help before that, but thank god he has you for support and comfort!!  Hang in there!
