nasal and injection imitrax

 can one combine the two? Why I ask is because I experience side affects even on half dosage with. At the moment I also have shingels and have difficulty to cope with lighter attacks and want to try nasal spray for these. So bare with me if one can use two injections a day at normal dosage, i shuld asume that I can use 4 because I use 1/2 dosage. so if I use 2 imitrax injections I should be able to use at least 1 nasel spray?????

If I understand your question correctly ...
Yes, you should be able to mix Trex injections with nasal spray as long as you don't exceed 12mg/day - that would be same amount as 2 full auto-injects. So if you're using 1/2 an injection each time, you should be able to take 4 shots per day, or you could replace a shot with some nasal spray. I've never used the spray, so don't know how much is in each use.
The biggest caution in mixing Tryptans is crossing over drugs. Trex shouldn't ever be mixed with other Tryptan meds.

Honestly Kris,
That is what I have heard from not only here but from my docs.
Mainly because none of us can determine such dosages.
It is different splitting doses for injections where you can actually tell what is left but when you introduce and NS now everything is off and what if the next little dribble not even a 1/5 of a ml of trex causes a cardiac event.
I wouldn't do it, however you were in the medical field and may know more than I.

Get some ice and coffee and hang in there!
You may want to find an additional abortive such as oxygen or zyprexa which you can use in addition to triptans without worry

ok thanks thursday I have my appointment with my neuro and I shal ask him and let you know. In the meen time I hope I wont need any imigran because I have used two nasel sprays allready. BUT I just realise that it is wednesday for me so I can start anew. I just hope I wont need it. I took ibrupophen an houer ago for the pain of shingels and now I hope to be able to sleep and hope not to be woken by the beest.

As long as you're doing nasal sprays (all I use) give Zolmatriptan 5 mg NS a shot.......unless you've already tried it with no success. I like the stuff, it's fast acting, and has a great half life. Studies used 2.5, 5 and 10 mg NS doses. Placebo, too. Twice a day, PRN. No major adverse reports (everybody lived.) If you get 5 PF hours from one 5 mg snort of Zomig, then you could use 4/day, and only have a pain window of 4 hours. Pretty cool if insurance covers it, it works for you, and you just can't find a prevent that stuffs it.
Don't forget Zypreza.
