Flexeril helped

I'm episodic.  I had some Flexeril laying around after I hurt my back a couple of months ago.  My cycle started and in an effort to get some sleep I took 2 before bedtime(20mg).  I almost slept through the entire night.  I woke up about 4 hours after going to sleep with a slight headache and fell back to sleep pretty easily.  The next two nights I took 30mg and slept straight through.  Last night I was out of the pills and woke up about an hour after going to sleep with a kip 6-7.

Conclusion:  I think the flexeril had enough sedative effect to keep me asleep through the headache or, it had a preventative effect on the headaches.  Either way, I think I'm going to ask my doctor for more.

has anyone else tried this?

P.S. I also started taking 180mg verapamil after the first evening.  I've never really noticed any effect from verapamil except some slight dampening effect on the pain.

Verap. takes several days to start its action and the dose you mention is much too low to make a judgment about its effectiveness.

Here is a link to read and print and take to your doctor.  It describes preventive, transitional, abortive and surgical treatments for CH. Written by one of the better headache docs in the U.S.  (2002)
