Celebrex is an anti-imflammatory or muscle relaxer isn't it? It's not a pain medicine. Correct me if i'm wrong  ???

Celebrex is "the new generation" after indometacin, and should help for those with CPH.I have tried indo for my cluster while the neuro`s tested me,No positive experience there for me.But the neuroes here claims that it should help those with CPH.Thats all i know of that med.

Hopefull, after 2 pills it's kind of early to throw the towel. As it is used as a preventative you should at least take it for a week or two before deciding if it helps or not.

I find it outrageous if somebody put antiinflammatories and muscle relaxer in the same pot. After all, the intent of this MB is to help other clusterheadache sufferers and not to disseminate rumors and half assed medical gibberish, in an attempt to confuse readers.

Celebrex is a NSAID (NonSteroidal AntiInflammatory Drug) and a specific COX-2 inhibitor.
As an antiinflamatory it is of course a "pain medicine" in fact it's main indication is arthritic pain.

UnsolvedEquation, why don't you, before posting some wild guesses, inform yourself about the medicament in question? By example by putting it into the search box of

http://www.rxlist.com/

or

http://www.about.com/health/

or do a simple web search with http://www.google.com/     ?

Well...Ueli ... couldn't you tell by my post that I didn't really know. It IS an anti immflammitory then right ? We're all glad you cleared up this whole mess. I sure wouldn't want to give anyone any wrong information. Next time anyone has any questions about medications, we should just come to you then , huh ? And I'm also glad you told me about the 'search box'. Is that what that is for...searching? I'm glad you cleared that up to. They must have forgot to teach me about that in computer science.  ???  While we're on the subject...is a search box and a search engine the same thing ? I wouldn't want to misinform anyone.
PS...If it had been an actual CH med, maybe I would've known more about it.

Just tried a combination of Celebrex & Skelaxin recently, but didn't feel any difference at all. Took it for about 3 weeks.
But, it's worth keeping in mind, that what may not work for some, can work for another.
I had no side effects from the Celebrex, and I'm one of those who usually experiences almost all side effects to the many, many different medications I've tried.
Might consider keeping on it for at least enough time to see if it makes any difference, then at least you'll know on way or another and not end up thinking "what if" down the line.
 Best of luck,
 Dave

Hi
I am on Vioxx which is (according to specialist) the same as celebrex, and asure you that this does absolutely nothing for or against chs!   I take vioxx (ongoing) for a lower back/hip problem.  Right at the beginning of this cycle I had shadows but no real paid and the night terrors which for me is a sure sign for entering a phase, but because no real attacks were forthcoming for a few weeks, I thought it is the vioxx helping to suppress the devil.  Trust me, it wasn't - I've had full blown attacks and the vioxx helps nothing - nada!   As sore as they always were!
