WOW.  That's so cool.  Micro-brew's best friend is home on leave from Iraq.  I'll make sure he knows about this and passes it on over there.

And I'll make sure he knows how grateful we are.

Every time I've come over to the US I've met soldiers travelling and every time I've taken my courage into my hands, approached them and said thank you. In spite of being the gobby person you all know me as I'm very shy when it comes to approaching strangers and this is really difficult for me. I figure they're doing something a hell of a lot more difficult for ME though.

I love this story, thanks Steph. Need to go to the doctors tomorrow though as I'm developing a really bad case of leaky eye...

Thanks Steph!

I usually walk up and shake their hands if possible, but then I usually have on a shirt or a cap denoting the Corps which breaks the ice.  Iknow I appreciate the folks who acknowledge my son and what he is doing.  I want to be sure to say thanks to the others as well.

When you travel as much as I do, you get a lot of opportunities to say thanks to our troops.  I usually go out of my way to acknowledge them and say thank you.  Most of the time, you can really tell that it means a lot to them.  With everything our media does to demonize the military and their leadership, this is the only right thing to do.
