Do these things switch sides?
Aug 23rd, 2008 at 7:40am

Hello everyone.
Just a quick question. do Ch's switch sides? for the last eight to ten weeks I have been having them on the right side but this morning I woke up with symptoms on the left side. I let it go as far as I could(maybe a kip 8 or 9 before I used my imitrex just to be sure) I know I read on this site that they can switch sides but havent experienced it until now.Has this happened to anyone else?

It happens but not commonly; has no clinical significance--except one report which speculated that it MAY signal the development of chronic CH.

Would not be concerned at this point.

Yup, it happens!  And according to the CH specialist I met in Norway, it is not as uncommon as we are led to believe.

For me, I am one of the odd ones (NO comment, Barb!) in that I never know which side they are going to be on.  I am chronic, and I get hit both sides.  Most people, that do switch, will switch entirely to the other side.  No me though!

If you REALLY want to experience fun, get nail on BOTH SIDES AT ONCE!  It gives you a whole new respect (?) for the evilness of the beast!

Oh Chuckles is ODD alright, but not THAT unusual with the switcheroo on sides.  I've always been a leftie, but last year turned into a right-sider for about three months (I'm chronic too) -- this was a shock to my system, but I got thru it...

Now it's back to business as usual on the left side.... One thing you'll find out about these things -- just when you figure them out -- they CHANGE!!!

Now about Chuckles -- the things I could tell you..... Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Hugs BD

Thanks for all the replies the beast seems to have permanently switched his residence to the left side so I guess I'll just deal with it.
Thanks again and PF days to all

Brian, that happened to me in my cycle of 2004.  I was at the end and then boom, a hit on my rightside (I'm leftheaded).  It was more in the kip 4-5.  It didn't last very long....ummm, 15-20 minutes.  I was weirded out.

I'm a switcher, too. I started on my left side, almost exclusively for about a year and a half. Since then (another year and a half) I have been hit almost exclusively on the right side, with the odd re-appearance of a left side hit (usually shadows) on rare occasion.
