Can it be gone???
Oct 21st, 2008 at 1:46am

Hi all,
Just this past August/September my beast was "due" for a visit.  I began taking all of my preventatives as usual 1 month before gearing up for another, usually progressively worse episode.  I was even getting ready to try shrooms this time- thought I was at that point- can't bear them anymore; Well, I had several shadows, right on schedule, and 3 "small" headaches (around kip-4-5), then nothing!!!  for the first time in 22 years I did not have an actual (10+ week) episode.  I generally get the beast fairly consistently, every 18 months.  This is the first time EVER this has happened.  Has anyone ever experienced anything like this?  I am wondering if the preventatives actually WORKED (usually don't have much effect), or is it possible the beast is saying goodbye to me after 22 years?? (wishful thinking...)

I wouldn't hold my breath.  After forty years of this stuff, I'm now going three years between cycles.  I'm 2 1/2 years into remission now.

Do I believe it's gone?

Nope.

Keep your powder dry.

All the best,

George

Don't think about it.  Just enjoy the break.  Sounds like you've earned it.

The beast will return. Or he won't.

One thing I have learned is that you can never count on The Beast.  He is a sneaky SOB.

Enjoy your PF time.  Could be forever, who knows.   (hope so)

Yeah, I guess I'll just enjoy the moment.  I am still going to plan for when my next episode "should" return and see how it goes.  I really am not very hopeful... This monster has had me in it's grips all of this time.  I guess I shouldn't expect it to leave that easily!  Thanks for the feedback.
