NC Cluster Head from way back (wewcaj)
Oct 24th, 2008 at 6:18pm

Just thought I would stop in and introduce myself. I was on here the other day (DR. took my imitrex away) and would like to say thanks for all of the information. I am Butch Watson , Winston Salem, NC and have been fighting these things since 1979 at the age of 24. That is the same year I started my aviation mechanic career and I like to blame the beast on me ever getting involved in the airline industry. LOL. I also run a custom motorcycle seat shop. If any of you guys are into bikes check out my website Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register I went through several years of myself or any of the Doctors I went to not knowing what in the world I was dealing with. Finally I found a great Doctor ( even though as we all know there is only so much they can do. Dr. James Aldelman from the Headache wellness Center in Greensboro. I will be into the third week of this mess Sunday, weaning off the massive predisone and the beast is sticking it to me a little more every day. The red bull and oxygen seems to be helping. So far I have been able to abort the headache in about 20 minutes. I have ordered a regulator and mask for more flow and can't wait for it to get here. Thanks again for all of your help and I am very glad to have found this site

     What a familiar story.
How much Pred are you on.  I start with 60mg for ten day total, tapering off at day 7.
Also start on 360mg of Verapamil at the same time.
Works fairly well for me.
I've been lucky enough to ward off night time attacks in 15 to 20 minutes, mostly at a k7 to k8.
                          Good PF luck to Ya

Carl I started on 60mg for 6 days and then started tapering off 5mg per day. Raising the dose back to earlier days useage if the clusters get worst. The pred screws with me something awful but I quess we have no choice but to try it again and again. I am also on 360mg verapamil daily, along with 2 depakote at bedtime. I am waiting on a higher flow regulator to try but I got really lucky on ebay tonight and bought one that is 0 - 25 lpm. The lady said she would ship tomorrow. I pray that it wasn't a fellow cluster head that I was bidding against.

So YOU are the SOB that outbid me!  LOL!

Sorry to have raised the price so high, buddy.  I buy those whenever I can, so that I have them on hand to send to whoever needs one.

I wish I had know you were bidding, and I would not have bid for it.

Welcome to the nuthouse family!

I will have to stop out there, the next time I am in my western market.  I have business ties in Winston-Salem.  I am in eastern NC, in Greenville, the home of the ECU Pirates.

You are welcome anytime. I was wondering the whole time of the auction if I was going to be keeping a fellow sufferer from getting the regulator.
