The Rainbow Bridge...RIP Cisco
Nov 4th, 2008 at 5:22pm

Rocky, Fraser, Oscar, Gizmo(Oliver's puppy) (I apologize if I"ve misspelled their names), please keep a place open for my Cisco puppy.  He is fighting very hard, but his battle is nearing an end.  As of 5:00 p.m. today they have given him a 25 % chance of survival from an unknown immune hemolitic anemia - his autoimmune system is attacking itself.  His liver enzymes and bilirubin were 'off the chart' and the vet has been working very hard to get him to stabilize but he continues to decline.

It is with tears in my eyes and a very heavy heart that I ask for those loved puppies who have gone ahead to please take care of and play with my Cisco puppy if he should come to meet you this night.  Gizmo kitty is either at the bridge or driving the space ship, the jury is still out on that one.

Cat.....I'm so sorry.  This is so very hard.  My heart breaks for you all.

Like I told you this afternoon.....Rocky and the other two Boxers I know of that are there, will take the very best care should your beloved Cisco Puppy need watching after.  There are lots of Cluster Pups there to watch out for him.

Wish I could give you a hug.  I'm sending vibes and positive thoughts though and holding you close in my heart.

Love you a bunch,
Jackie...your other Mom

Cat,
Add my beloved Hawkeye to that gang of loving puppies awaiting your Cisco............not to mention Chrissie, Phantom, Buddy, Pepper and Corrigan....cats, but nonetheless, kind souls. Poor Cisco, rest in peace....play in the green grass, feel no pain, watch over your family.

It's just so hard to lose them!!
My sympathy, cat,
Cathi

Cat,

My previous Doberman, Jamie had hemolytic anemia along with cancer of the liver and spleen.  My heart aches for Cisco, you and your family.

You gave him a warm home, yummy food, kisses and love that any pup would cherish.   I know he was so happy to have such a great home and family.  A lucky dog for sure.

Dogs are like children only with fur.

Sending hugs, love and warmth to you across the miles.

I am so sorry for your pup and everything you're family is going through. I lost my last Golden Retreiver, Emily less than 2 years ago. It was awful and I swore I'd never get another dog ever again. That was a Tuesday night. By Friday I was looking again, still crying myself to sleep. The following week I put a deposit on Maddie and waited a few weeks for her to get old enough to leave her Mommy. This past Sunday I was doing our night walk  and watching her run playfully, chasing squirrels. She was so happy. She hasn't replaced Emily, no one could do that. I am just so amazed how fast she came into our life and melted our hearts. Pets are such a wonderful part of life. That's why it must be so hard when they leave us. I hope your memories of Cisco will comfort you. (((HUGS))))

Charlotte

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and words.  The vet called this morning and Cisco's body temperature has dropped, he's shutting down.  They are going to go ahead with a blood transfusion, in one last hope to save him, but his chances are not good.  All the kids agreed that the only Christmas present they wanted was their puppy home, so we redirected savings to helping save our puppy.  The vet made it clear that while his body was trying to shut down, Cisco was trying to keep going, that is the reason we agreed to attempt the transfusion.  Apparently, by all rights he shouldn't have made it through the night.

Hopefully he'll come home to me here, but if he can't then I know he'll have a home on the bridge with a lot of other cluster pups.

Thanks everyone, this is truly killing me Sad

My heart hurts to hear this. I am praying your puppy finds its way hmoe to you, and if not, finds its peace gracefully.

I've always said the reason puppies are so cute is that quote often they have the insurmountable task of healing a broken heart.

My thoghts are prayers are with you. You are not alone in your grief. The world becomes a little less everytime a dog passes into the night.

May peace find you.

Cisco came through his transfusion very well, his blood was up and his body temp was back to normal, but he was unable to eat and continued to vomit.

He passed in the night last night.
