Anyone in Va..

know where to get O2 cheap? I don't have insurance, I know it sucks. I can't keep a job because of these God awful HA. If it is as simple as breathing O2 to get rid of a HA then I'm down. But how do you pace while you have an O2 mask on your face? Is the hose long enough? If I can't pace I will go crazy from the pain. That is one of the things that has helped me stay sane for all these years.

Now thats a good question and Im glad to see your willing to atleast try some suggestions.  As far as o2 goes if you cant get a rx for it go to any welding supply company and get some welders o2 its cheap just call around your area,  you can find masks and regs on ebay.  The pacing well I think you will be able to handle rocking for the 5-10 minutes the o2 is going to take to work.
Wishing you the best,    Phil Cool

I am a pacer too.  I have a long hose that I add to the rig, and that allows me to pace.  I think it is a 25' extension.  I have more here.  Let me know, and I will send it to you, once you get your tanks.

CAUTION:  Do NOT smoke when using or around oxygen.  Oxygen can permeate your clothing or bedding.  Wait, before lighting cigarette or flame.

Keep fire extinguisher available, and charged.

Good on you for willing to try the o2. Ask your doc about it and be sure to print off the info to your left and show him. This stuff works wonders to abort the nasty for most here.
Extra long hoses are available so you can still pace. I find staying as still as possible and try to calm myself down speeds up the relief from the o2. Also you must get on it at the very first sign of an on-coming hit.

Hang in there Chris!!!

Lease the tank.  Don't buy the tank.  I paid two hundred bucks for a lifetime lease.   Then if the tank needs anything done to it it's on their dime.

Chris, I'm in VA, and I got o2 without insurance.  Get the script from your dr regardless of ins. I called up a medical services/supply place, told them the prob, that  I didn't have ins but needed the o2 for ch.

They cut me some slack and I rented the largest tank they had for $50/mo, and refills were $26.  I never had to refill it during my cycle.

And yeah, you can pace with a long hose.

Get the script.  I pay $10 per exchange (and no outlay) . . I keep 12 "E" tanks and never go into a weekend without at least two full tanks, plus whatever is in the cart in my bedroom and the tank in my van.

An "E" tank will give 45 min of 02 at 15 lpm.  You can abort several attacks if used at the on-set and kill him in 5-10 or less.  If wakened at night with a Kip 5-6 (and ramping), it might take 20 min . . . the "general" rule is that if doesn't work in 20 min., it's probably not going to . . . though I've used it up to 35 min. before the attack subsided.

So . . . the obvious course is to use it early and kill the bastard at a Kip 2-3 . . . you'll save a lot of oxygen and a LOT of pain.

I do have a long hose, but don't use it .. . the 6ft hose I use is plenty and I can haul the cart around while I "dance" and head to the fridge for an icepack and to make the coffee.

I can't use Imitrex (high cholesterol and some artery blockage), so 02 is my only abortive . . . a real miracle for most of us.

  Another 02 pusher,

I can live with the beast as long as I don't have to "dance" with the bastard.
