Hello from Illinois
Feb 4th, 2009 at 12:07am

Hi my name is Sarah and it's nice to meet you all : )

I've read through alot of messages in this forum, and I posted a year ago (I think) around the last time I was having a period of attacks.

I'd like to say that my heart goes out to everybody that has to deal with these "headaches" and those who support the sufferers. It's no fun. I've been dealing with these headaches for about 6 years now. And to those of you who experience them on a regular basis without remission, I'm amazed at your strength to be able to deal with them--I really doubt that I could.

I went to my family doctor last year with these "headaches" and he told me they were from tension. I remember asking him how I could possibly be that tense in the middle of the night, while peacefully dreaming, and then suddenly be woke by excruciating pain. He also had no answer (nor did he really listen) when I told him about the watering eye, drooping lid, ect. There was no use, he wasn't taking it seriously. I regret now not pushing him further to help me because they're back full force now and making me perfectly miserable. Sleep is a joke, because I seem to be getting them around 4am every morning, and then again when I wake up around 8:30. Trying to focus on school is real fun! lol

I'm sure you are all too familiar with the, "Well why in the heck won't you take some motrin?" line. Well, because it doesn't help, lol. I know because I've chewed them (and anything else I could find when very desperate) like candy and now I've decided I may as well just save my liver lol.

Well I know there's lots of you out there who are all too familiar with this stuff. My heart really does go out to everybody that suffers from this.

I do have one question for anybody that happens to know. Does anybody know of a chat site, or a chat room ect. for people with cluster headaches? I'm up late because it's really hard for me to sleep, afraid of having the attacks, so if there are any chats out there that would be super..Or if there's anybody else out there who would like to have a fellow ch sufferer to chat to, let me know too  Smiley

~Sarah S.

Another option is skype ... Do you have that on your computer?  It is a free download, if you don't have it.

Thanks, Chuck Smiley Somehow I overlooked that there is a chat room on this site lol.

I will look into Skype, also. I am not sure if I can download it on my computer or not--It's got a Mac OS and I haven't figured everything out on it yet.  Smiley

Hi Sarah & Welcome

First I've hear of Skype guys . . . went to the site . . . guess I'll have to find my mike and webcam . . . haven't used either in quite a while . . . when I find same looks promising.

In the meantime Sarah, I'm sure you're being educated in the use of 02 and other prevents/abortives.

Glad you found us . . . the info you will find here will go a long way in helping your doc help you.

   Be Safe,   PFDANs

Get a headset and mic, Richard, and YOU can join us nuts!  Right now, Tony (Artonio), Pete (Batch), Sarah (SaraBear) and I are talking there.

Many of the laptops have built in mics and speakers, so you don't need the headset.

Thanks Chuck

I DO have a mike (somewhere) and webcam . . . just don't know which box/bin it's in at the moment.  Will ask the wife in the morning . . . might be in the equipment around her puter . . . wife and eldest daughter are both graphic designers/typsetters (for different publishers), daughter also owns several websites and son-in-law is IT pro and hardware specialist . . . . so I depend on them for my technical needs . . . won't be long and I'll be joining you on Skype.

  Thanks again,

     Richard

Hey Sarah,

I grew up in Peoria, currently living in Lincoln. I was talking to Chuck on Skype a little while ago, and added you.

I'll PM you my doc info, and neuro info, in Peoria.

Meantime, try some energy drinks, like red Bull or Rock star. Make sure they have 1000mg of taurine in them, makes the caffeine work faster... caffeine is a vaso-constrictor. I know you got educated on O2 talking to Chuck. Hang in there a little longer.  Smiley
