What is on the Menu tonight?
Feb 14th, 2009 at 4:39pm

Since it's a quazi-holiday, and the budget is frozen tight, I decided to improvizzzzeeeee.

Thanksgiving Meatloaf.

That's right.  You use ground turkey, and stove top stuffing mix for the bread crumbs.  Not sure how good it will be, but I'm going to give it a shot.  I have enough drippings frozen as well as some instant gravy packets so it won't be dryer than the desert.  Plan on some mashed taters too. Probably some sweet corn for the veggie and a loaf of crusty bread.

Spending the weekend with friends about 6 miles west of Elroy. We're about to roast a 5-lb New York Strip roast, also having roasted Morgold squash, Yukon Gold potatoes, home-grown corn, and sauteed mushrooms.

ok, it was stuffed steak,  rice, veggie.

dessert will be homemade cream puffs filled with vanilla ice cream, topped with hot fudge or (for me) warmed strawberry, raspberry, blueberry sauce.

I'm all about the dessert today   Cheesy

We had something called "Tiger Rolls" from a Japanese Fusion Steak House where we had lunch.

It was a roll with eel and other stuff in it. Very tasty indeed! I am starting to acquire a taste for Sushi! Shocked

edited for spelling.

I ate way too much yesterday!!!  Sushi for lunch and pasta for dinner.

Tonight I'm having my sister and her hubby over.  It was my sis's bday last week and I'm making her bday dinner....... ribeyes, baked potatoes and broccoli.  Chocolate cake for desert...yum!

My "boss" took the wife and I out to a Japanese Steak House............ it is my favorite place and it didnt disappoint.  We had 330 reservations for a place that usually opens at 4pm.... there was a huge line at 315!!!

We sat right away..... yummy!!!

Well, I had the salmon (nicely done in oven with some cheese and pesto sauce) and vegetables (carrots, potatoes and cauliflower) and asparagus in herb sauce as a side dish which were leftovers from lunch.

If I get hungry again, there's leftover chopped meat-sausage pizza from last night... Smiley

As it was Valentine's Day we let the ladies decide.
Nobody felt like wrestling with the holiday crowds at the nicer places, thus they chose Mexican.... margarita starting-point for the evening.

Then we stopped by 2 clubs for about 2 hours each.  The girls were hitting raspberry vodka and diet sprite with an occasional So-Co & Lime shot.  I did a few Captain & diets early in the evening, but was the driver so laid off around 10pm-ish.

Part of me was hoping he meant that a lot of people might show up, but sadly I know that's not true.   Kiss
