Hi everyone...I found this board two years ago and haven't posted much since, figured to start here...

I've been lucky enough to get mid-morning/wakeup clusterf**ks for the last ten years, and I'm not even 25 yet...fml, right?   Wink

I kind of have the stereotypical doctor to doctor migraine/sinus/allergy misdiagnosis story so we can skip all that.

found the doc who agreed it was ch and tried verapamil...kind of worked, but I think it was the end of a cycle anyway.  I think my cycles are spring and fall, but it varies.  My cycle triggers tend to be smoking cigarettes/cannabis/tobacco, beer, and most other alcohol except jack daniels.  weird.

I read about the energy drink/caffeine/taurine/b-vitamin hypothesis in 2007 and tried it out...sure seemed to work for me!  some ch required more than one 16oz monster or rockstar drink but it was my best defense.

my health insurance ran out after I graduated college and work doesn't provide it so verapamil wasn't an option as a preventative and I don't know how to access O2 without a script.  so I stuck with the energy drinks and it seemed to really help.

I think that I got used to drinking them daily and I built up a tolerance, because they seem to be decreasing in effectiveness.  I've also noticed more triggers = more intensity, so after a night of heavy drinking and smoking, my roommate may have just a mild hangover, while I'm getting skullfucked by Satan and giving birth to his demon spawn through my right eye socket.  fun times  Grin

so I've decided to kick the beast in its bastard ass and try new therapies with an open mind.  its seems everyone swears by O2...if anyone can recommend a relatively cheap way to get it without the script, I'd love you forever.

I also want to share my experiences with various other remedies but I do not want to break any rules of the forum, so if anything is forbidden to discuss please let me know or point me in the right direction so I don't get banhammered  Lips Sealed

most of all I'm here to learn what's worked for others and share what's worked for me.

if paul from the old boards is still around bless your soul for turning me on to energy drinks

sorry for rambling like a noob.  me in a nutshell...6'2" 160lbs blond blue eyes likes surfing and basketball and music and girls but I'm single.

Welcome to the site and glad you found us... Wink

It's good news that you have a doc that has agreed with you on diagnosis and is already working with you regard proper treatments... Smiley

I know many on this site are using welders 02 as this is a relatively cheaper option compared to medical 02. I'm sure someone with experience in this area will be along shortly to expand on this method of 02.

Another one of us west coasters, welcome to the board! Welders oxygen is exactly the same stuff as what comes out of the medical tanks. Just takes some adaptations to get your regulator and mask set up. I don't know how but hoipefully others will be along shortly to show you how to get set up. Do read the "oxygen info" linkon the left as it must be used correctly to be effective.

As fas as "alternative therapies" check out clusterbusters.com"   They deal with a lot of the alternative methods and are posting some pretty good success stories. Also, read the link "Time for the 75-80% to be counted" under the medications tab, a lot of info there too.

Welcome to the board, sadly it's not unusual for a therapy that worked for a while to lose it's effectiveness. One of the beasts more frustrating habits! Wink
