Yowch.

Glad you're okay, though.

well steph at least you got the balls to run a chainsaw. the hardest thing i've found about getting stitches on a cut like that is when they clean it out with iodine and a swab before they sew it up. your a pretty tough mama Cool

Yeeeowwwch!  That had to hurt big time.

Got to see the inside layers of my calf about 20 years ago.  My dog, Freeway was tied outside on his rope, ran around me, wrapped the rope around my leg and took off running.  Knocked me on my butt and when I tried to stand up, I realized that I had a rope embedded in my calf.

It was a surreal moment because for about a minute, it didn't hurt.  Kept standing there thinking, "If I can see the bone in my leg and all of the layers of skin and subcutaneous tissue, fat, etc., why isn't this hurting?"

The pain finally set in and it hurt like hell.  I was rolling around in the back yard screaming while Freeway, who thought I wanted to play, was jumping all over me.

Take it easy, Steph.  Sucks gimping around on one leg but ya gotta give the sutures time to heal.

Hope you feel better soon.

Wow Steph ... I'm glad you are still a bi-ped.  That was way too close for comfort.

I'm glad you're ok, Steph!

That is a great warning to me and mom; when we will use our chainsaw this summer, we must be careful (especially, because the nearest hospital is far away!). A huge tree had fell down right next to our summer cottage and with no men around... one of us will have to cut that tree into pieces. Hmmm... then again, I have plenty of cousins. Maybe I'll bribe one of them... Wink

Sanna, if you or your Mom do not have experience with a chain saw, then PLEASE DO NOT USE ONE!!!!!! Steph got off lucky, as I know some people who are missing limbs and such from being inexperienced with one of these saws. You are only wrong once with this type of machine.
Just concerned for you, that's all. Wink

Barry,

thanks for the warning and your concern. Smiley We both have used chainsaw over the years on several occasions, mom more than me; after all, she was born and raised at a farm in Middle Finland. And I was raised with the idea that girls can do whatever they need to do... so I was using a hammer at 3.  Wink

Believe me, I'm enough of a scaredy cat to stay away from anything I don't know how to use properly! But still, it's good to remind oneself every now and then to be extra careful. I kinda like my hands and legs and plan to keep them. Wink
