It's on facebook? anybody can post the link? I only got onto facebook this past week so I don't know how to get around very much there.

I also made the phone call to the donor match when I read the story about those cute little kids, but was declined until I get my high blood pressure under control. when I do, will contact them again, as I put the number (and website) into my cellphone.

I didn't miss this thread, just speechless. So unfair that a child should have to go through so much. Is there anything we can do, send cards, stuff to do in the hospital, books ANYTHING!!!! ????Poor litle guy, but he looks like a real trooper! My prayers and thoughts are with the family.

Thanks you all for your continued support.

Jacob has been having a real tough time of things. I suppose its all to be expected but that doesn't make it any easier to witness.

He's going through the host vs donor disease stage, which is expected and being handled but it's showing up as bad rashes.

When he is allowed to be discharged to the isolation home, where he'll be for about 3 months, I'll post an address so those of you that would like to send a card, can send it.

Thanks again,
Bob

I know a lot of you were following this story and I wanted to give you all the latest update from Jen. Thank you all from me for your continued support. It is incredible how much support like that can mean to people in an ordeal like this.
Helping to keep the family strong and able to focus helped keep Jacob strong, no doubt.
--

Thank you everyone for your prayers. Through Gods good will and your prayers Jacob is on his way to a great long recovery. He is going back to school today for the first time since October 9th. Transplant was October 21st and he is doing well. The Monosomy 7 blood disease and Leukemia is gone! We are just battle Graft vs. Host disease which could take anywhere from 1 - 5 years.

Thank you again for your continued prayers to get him to 100%.

God Bless you
Mike and Jen

Wow that is such great news. I lost my own dad to Leukemia 39 years ago this Sunday and am so thankful that you have a successful story!

So glad to hear he is doing better and back to school.
Please post a newer photo of the little guy, the one above made my heart sink when I saw it.
The look on his face is just heartbreaking, it is so unfair for someone so young to have to deal with such pain, we are older and even though pain is still not easy to deal with we can at least understand it but someone so young just does not, that picture is going to haunt me for a while but at least I know he is doing better now, thanks for updating us on him and again so glad he is doing better.

Whew. As I said before: This kid needed a break. I guess things are looking up a bit.

That picture is something.

Praying for more good stuff.

Here's a brief update on Jacob.

He's doing as well as can be expected but is still battling Host vs. Donor disease as you can see. Trying to enjoy the summer.

Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register

He has had lot's of support from many places and different people. Just like the support here, it sometimes is as helpful for the family as it is for Jacob.

Coach Quenneville of the WORLD CHAMPION BLACKHAWKS (Whoooo Hoooo) stopped in at Children's Memorial and Jacob and his brother Zack got to see and touch THE Cup. As you can see, the team isn't just bringing it to bars and talk shows.

Thanks for all your continued support,
Bob
Did I mention the Blackhawks are Stanley Cup Champions???  Smiley

Still praying for the little guy, glad he is able to have some fun and not many people can say they have seen let alone touched that cup, how cool is that?
