nice to meet you joe, am 40ish, ahem, and live i the uk, looking at some of the other post on here, it seems like i'm 1 of the lucky one, if there can ever be a lucky ch sufferer lol. my encounters with the beast as it seems to be called are generally every 14-16mth, tho this time its less than 12! no oxygen, just sub-cutaneous imigran and steroids, which i've started on today, new bout is here, its timing is impeccable, what withe the world cup just hrs away, and a trip to see pink in 2wks time!

Hey Paula,

Welcome!  So glad you found this place.  It frightens me to think how many people are suffering without the proper kind of support/advice.  You no longer have to deal with this alone.

Wishing you all the very best (check out the info on 02 'cos it works! Wink)

See ya round,

Kate

Good to meet you Paula but I'm sorry that dealing with this horror is part of it.

You're in the right place. One thing I'll never forget is meeting in person a fellow clusterhead. Both of us knew instantly that our discussion wasn't going to begin with our having to explain what CH is or felt like.

Coming here is a good start!

Charlie

thanks for all your welcome msgs, Brian, i'm off the beer, just dont want to tempt fate, lol, Kate, this is one of the best places I've found, reading other ppl's experiences and suggestions, knowing that they suffer the same thing, is really comforting, if thats the right word to use. Nigel, i'd try the energy drink, but just the smell of it..............lol. and Charlie, good to meet you, to be honest, i cant say that i've ever met another sufferer myself, again, thanks to you all, chat soon

I know what you mean , I've kinda acquired the taste for it now .

Relentless tropical has all the same stuff in it and it tastes and smells like lilt and is also substantially cheaper than Red Bull . There are also many others that will work too as long as they have Taurine 0.4% and Caffeine 0.03%.

It really is worth a try .

Thanks for the info Nigel, I'll look out for the different flavour and maybe just give it a go. How many of them do you tend to drink? am just a bit worried about having too many as I also have high blood pressure which is med controlled. Ginger, a pf week isnt looking good at the moment! Fortunately the beast is only visiting once a day at the moment, either waking me in the early hours, or w8ing till i get up in the morning, how considerate of it! Thankfully, im episodic, so may only be in cycle for approx 3 wks, but my remission period has been much shorter this time Sad

Just the one as quickly as possible at the very start of an attack . I have herd talk that Taurine can effect/enhance meds for high bp so caution is always best , may be talk to your GP about it first .

Thanks for the advice Nigel, will speak to doc nxt time I have to get another script. Thanks for the welcome Jessica & Melissa. Jessica, I'm glad I found this site to, the information that I've read so far has helped me understand so much more about this nasty horrible condition, but as you say, it's not so good that we have to look for it in the first place!!

Hi Paula and welcome to the board, I still remember when I first found this site and it felt like someone reached into a very dark hole and grabbed the back of my shirt and pulled me into the light.
This is a great place to get advice or to just vent when you feel the need, no one here will give you a hard time about it or tell you to stop winning because we all understand what you are going through.
PF wishes coming your way (That is Pain Free by the way)
Matt

Thanks Matt, it took me almost 20yrs off pain and suffering, mostly on my own, but I got here in the end, and so glad I did. Have spent hrs reading other ppl's experiences and remedies to try and make it more bearable and it's been time well spent. So much more to read and learn tho. I self diagnosed myself arnd 9yrs ago, but had already been suffering for 9 previous to that, but fortunately, the next time I had to ring for a docs app, I got to speak to one that actually knew what I was on about. That in itself was a god-send. My parents dont really undastand what they are about, I get the usual 'what have u eaten' etc, I've even printed stuff off the net and let tthem read it, but it's always the same nxt time rnd. So imagine my surprise when I told them I'd found this site, and got the response 'oh thats good then' lol. Thanks for the pf wishes, if only! I,m actually in cycle now, tho have just had 3 pf days, but true to form, the beast reared its ugly head in mine again this morning! Oh well, c'est la vie and all that.
Again thanks for the wishes, and I hope you are pf aswell
