With a friend like you who needs a enemy

My best friend who lives in California is in MN for a week she got in last Wednesday. Before she left she let me know she was coming because she was going to be so close she thought we could get together. So now she has been here and I talked to her on Friday night I told her that we had the tasted of Madison going on this weekend maybe her and her friend wanted to come down to Madison for that she said they would talk it over and she would call me in the morning. It is now Sunday night 11pm I have yet to hear from her I have emailed, called and texted NOTHING Embarrassed

I mean if she changed her mind and she is having a good time with her friend (her friend is a man) and she does not want to interrupt her weekend fine I would understand but call me or something. I just don't understand why she would leave me hanging without a call or anything.

This is not the first time she has done this. Last time she was in Indiana and I drove 4 hours and cleared a weekend to see her she stopped by for 2 hours and then I did not hear form her for the rest of the weekend.

We used to work together I right now I am looking for a job. I need all the good references I can use right now with the job market the way it is and she is one of them. I think she is walking all over me and she know I am not going to say a thing because I need her or maybe I am just reading way to much in to a selfish persons actions.

As I write this I don't know why I am so upset or why I was so looking forward to seeing her, but I was and I am. Cry

Listen, you live in Minnesota, you are home to the worlds greatest football team that ever was and is, thanks to Brett ~~Fooooooovr~~, ~~Faaaaabr~~,
~~Fabrojeeee~~, #4. And Fran Tarkington (sp) plus, that Rashaad guy and not to mention, Jim Marshall. He made a touchdown once (for the other team). But remember this, "she's from California", they (we) think different out there. You are the better person and you will always be a better person. I for one will probably won't.

That's because I will ask one question, like, thong or the other....or nothing????

Thank everyone for letting me blow of steam this is one area of my life that she does not have access to. Access or understanding - She still thinks that I just need to detox, take some herbal supplement and eat more fruits and veggies. Ever since she moved to CA she is all about being from CA and think if I move there I would not have them anymore. We just don't really talk about my headaches anymore. Cool

I think it's time for another brake from each other again. I am just going to stay nice for now, don't want to burn bridges or anything.

I am going to go find some volunteer work or something to do with myself. I need to get out of this house and off this computer. I need to feel good about myself. I need to meet people that care about other people and I need to make REAL friends.

Then maybe things in my life will turn around for the better.

Gina, real friends don't act like that, but deep down you already understand that. The friendship you hold for her is obviously not reciprocated to the same extent. You cannot control that, but you can keep on being the caring compassionate person you are. The only one(s) in the end that you have to be concerned with pleasing are the one you look in the face when you brush your teeth and Thomas. If someone else shows herself/himself to be a true friend you are the richer for it.

I wouldn't worry to much about it Gena.Everyone one has acquaintances like your Pal. They just don't realise that they need you, a lot more than you need them.
