Feeling the aura
Nov 20th, 2009 at 3:49pm

hey all,

I have not been on this site for 2.5 yrs or so because I have been symptom free for that long.  At that time it had been 3 years of misdiagnoses until a neuro finally disagnosed and started me on the prednisone tapered dosage.  It worked well and I was expecting the cycle to start again in another 6-12 months as it normally would but it didnt.
I had felt as if the headaches may start again several times in the past 2.5 yrs but to my relief, they never did.  Now however I am feeling the "aura" much stronger than before and, although I hope I am wrong, I feel it coming.  Just looking for some advice on some methods that may have prevented a cycle for some...and also, I lost the dosage instructions for prednisone in terms of mg per day...
i rememeber it was something along the lines of 5 tablets, 3 times a day for five days, then generally it was tapered off...does anyone have a specific outline they can share?
Appreciate your help....I am sure I may find some answers if I scroll through the message boards but in this state of mind, I am in no mood to go through it all.
Thanks again!

Do not F around with Prednisone.

Prednisone is effective in a large variance of doses.

Call your doctor and follow your doctor's instructions.

You need to see your Dr for prescription info.  It would be improper for us to suggest dosages of things like prednisone.  Sometimes we will discuss what we have been prescribed, but it is not proper for us to make such recomendations.

What you are calling an "aura" is more along the lines of what most of us would call shadows.  Aura tends to be more along the lines of migraines, and describes a particular symptom.  Using that terminology can lead to folks calling you a "meegrainer" Cheesy.

My suggestion would be to get to a Dr right away and get started on a good preventative, or else try something like Kudzu.  Kudzu has worked well for me for the last several months.  For further info on it Iwould suggest you go to the archives and search for Kudzu.  Sorry I don't have the time to dig up the link for you right now.
