Use Imitrex a year past the expiration?
Nov 22nd, 2009 at 7:25pm

It's official, after a 4 year remission the beast has returned.  Last time the verapmil was my savior but since I won't be able to get the script renewed for a few days I need to rely on my stash of imitrex.  Unfortunately it's all 4 years old too. The experation date on all of it is oct 08, a year past.

Have you or would you use your injections past the date?

Of course I cannot suggest that you do something like use out of date meds, but many, many people here do.

I just came off a cycle and used injections that expired in 04 and 05 and they worked fine.  Thats just my experience, not suggesting that anyone else should use out of date meds either, but it was all I had besides O2 and without insurance coverage I really couldn't afford more Trex.

I've used Imitrex that were several years old and had no problems with it's effectiveness.
