Has your doc started you on a preventive med AT THE SAME TIME you are using the pred? If not, he is missing the boat!

The preventive of choice, Verapamil, takes a few days to couple of weeks to become effective and, sometimes, dose adjustsments are needed. Ergo, it should have been stated the same day you started the pred.

The "lingering" headche you describe is what a lot of people call the shadows. It's different from a regular tension type headche, it feels like a CH attack that just never catches ahold. I use energy drinks to help kick them down a few notches.

If a headache gets past the 02 and I have to ride it out, I'll have what I call a CH hangover headache for 2-3 days afterwards, feels like someone wapped me with a 2X4!

off the prednisone now, took too much, didn't taper because hits kept coming..  Now I'm suffering some side effects... boils, blister on foot won't heal etc...

Caffergot seems to be working?
