Oxygen supplier in Toronto, Ontario
Jan 15th, 2010 at 9:38am

Hi
I've recently moved back to Toronto from London and when I moved back I was astonished to find only one oxygen company able to service me.
However, this oxygen company has been problematic from the start but i've ignored it because i simply need my oxygen and don't have an alternate supplier I can go to.
My problem with this company is this:
First of all, the largest tank they offer is an E cylinder.  They charge 18 dollars to refill a cylinder.  If I order a D cylinder, its 18 dollars to refill that one as well.
Next, since they don't offer M tanks, and they only allow for one delivery a week (and no I can't just ask for 20 E tanks because then they say I have all their tanks), so I often need a second delivery because i've run out of oxygen.  When this happens they charge you me an additional 100 dollar delivery fee.
What has put me over the edge is that yesterday I asked for an emergency delivery of 10 E tanks to get me through the weekend until my delivery day (where i'm not charged for a delivery) - anyway yesterday they only had 4 E tanks on their truck at the time of the call so they dropped those off and said they'd drop the rest the next day.  This morning they call and ask if I still need the other tanks because it will be an additional 100 dollar charge to get more.
I read about how cheap oxygen is for some of you.. not for me!  This company isn't even pleasant to deal with and I'm actually constantly bothered because I don't trust my oxygen supplier because they obviously don't give a fuck based on how they treat me.
anyone know a company in Toronto that doesn't treat people like this?  It would be great if they were familiar with clusterheads but I figure that's pushing it.

Thanks.

I'm out in BC, I use Vital Aire.

Head office is in Mississauga.
I've always had availability to every sized tank imaginable.

I've flown into Toronto and had family pick up O2 tanks at the office so they are waiting for me when I arrived.  Whether in BC or Ontario I've always found them helpful and reasonable.
I even get to pick up tanks at my local office when I need, after I ask nicely.   Smiley

I just checked the invoices from last month for my costs (no insurance co-pay)
m-tank refill, $33.50
n-tank refill, $59.95
e-tank ?????

These includes delivery though they do tack on a fuel surcharge.

Hope this helps.

Doug

I went with welding O2 a long time ago because of cost.

I realize that O2 is cheaper here in Texas than many other areas, but I pay $18.50 for a refill of a "T" tank that has 9500 liters of O2. That's the equivalent of 13-14 "E" tanks, or $7.50 per "M" tank.

It's readily available here, super cheap and I can get it 7 days/week at my local auto parts store.

If you buy a regulator to fit large medical "M" tanks, it will fit ALL welding tanks. With an adapter, the same regulator will also fit smaller medical tanks like the E size.

Just an FYI........................
