Lidocaine nose drops/nasal spray
Feb 24th, 2010 at 12:39am

Does anyone have a brand name for Lidocaine nose drops or nasal spray? My internist couldn't find one and was not familiar with such  a product. I'm 4 months into a particularly bad cycle and am ready to dig my left eye out just before I jump off a cliff.

Thanks.

Hi Becky,

The old eye dig out before cliff jump readiness routine. Well I imagine a lot of us know that feeling, but compared to you and some others I'm a lucky one so far - the length of my episodes has maxed out at a bit under 3 months.

Really sorry to hear to hear of your predicament.   Embarrassed

Hey that lidocaine action isn't known to be all THAT great of a solution. has the high liter flow O2 therapy not worked for you? have you tried that yet?

CH according to Bejeeber:

Strictly relying on doctors for CH treatment is often a prescription that will keep you in a whole lot of PAIN. Doctors are WAY behind in many respects, and they are usually completely unaware of the benefits of high flow 100% O2.

There are lots of effective treatments documented at this site. Take matters into your own hands, learn as much as you can here and at clusterbusters.com, put it into practice, then tell this CH beast Jeebs said hello right before you bash him so hard with a swift uppercut knockout punch that his stupid horns go flinging right off.

With Jeebers on this one. I used Lidocaine drops in the mid 1980's. Would ratchet a bad hit down 2-3 notches, to add insult to injury it almost always made me throw up too! Sad

02 on the other hand eliminates the majority of my attacks and I don't barf afterwards! I don't recall if you've tried the 02, but really worth a shot.

Way back when, the Lidocaine didn't have a brand name. It was in a brown, glass bottle, the only label on it was the pharmacy label identifying what it was. My assumption was it came from a big container of Lidocaine.

Whichever route you go, hoping you catch a break soon, hurting sucks. Cry

There is no brand name.  A Pharmacy has to mix it up for you.  The Doc just has to tell them what percentage lidocaine to put in.  Also didn't do much for me when I tried it.

In evaluation reports Lidocaine come in about #4 in effectiveness. Suggest you try other abortives before trying it.

Thanks, guys! I'm checking with the pharmacist, which should have been my fist stop if I'd been able to think clearly in the first place. I'm so glad you folks are still here!

Yes, I have O2, am on Topamax and melatonin, Soma, etc. Most of the time I am managing to keep the devil at bay most of the day, but there are those times...

I used to get Hurricaine liquid and mix my own. Yeah, the first second or two is no fun, but it's all relative.

Lidocain 4% did not work for me, but Lidocain 10% does work. It was prepared by the pharmacy.

Perhaps it works better to use lidocaine as nose drops, not as spray.
