At least it worked for you when you needed it to as it's hardly the best place to have a CH.

Welcome to the board! I've been creamed enough times camping to know it's not a good prevent for me! And speaking of prevents....(slick segway huh! )...have you ever tried any? A med you take daily while on cycle to reduce the hits, Verapamil, lithium, topomax? I use lithium at 1200 mg a day it'll block 60-70% of my hits.

Unfortunately, it was probably a coincidence.

I suppose it's possible that a change in physical routine might have some influence on getting hit...hiking, swimming, etc.  Hasn't ever made much difference to me, but others report that increased exercise can influence the number of hits they get during a cycle.  Some get fewer hits, others get more.

I've gotten nailed while camping  a few times.  It's not so bad when you're by yourself, except there's no room to pace in a tent.  Inevitably, you end up outdoors, stumbling around and frightening the chipmunks.  It's dark out there, so you need to exercise a bit of caution, lest you fall on a porcupine or pitch headlong into a ravine. 

About a year ago, I was staying with my family in a small cabin up in the Salmon River country when I got hit.  I stubbed my foot against something at some point, but it was no big deal.  In the morning, I noticed that I had broken my toe.  Didn't even feel it at the time.
