Cycle has started..
Sep 10th, 2010 at 7:27pm

Hello all,

Things were going great up until last Friday night. I would get the solo hits from time to time, but nothing 02 wouldn't handle. But i have had a total of 7 hits over the course of 3 nights, covering 1 week's time.

The seeds seem to be not working as of now, I did 30 on Sunday night, then 30 last night (Thursday) and I'm still getting slammed. They have been all night hits, kip 7 by the time my feet hit the floor.

A little background here, Every 3rd year i get hit with a cycle that mostly lasts about 4 months. I found this place and the seeds at the pathetic end of my last 3 year danceathon. I'm on no prevents and no preds. and i have no intentions of getting back on either one.
I'm going to ride this cycle out, Only my 02, And to be honest I'm really scared hoping that the 02 don't fail me, or all bets are off.

I can feel it.. the fog head all day, the constant pain in the back of my neck, And that scared shitless feeling that we all know. I'm going to stick with the seeds for about another week, If they fail I'm going to go to the magnesium tablets (I read alot) along with kudos,
and anything else but the conventional meds.

I'm not looking down on anyone for there use of meds, I'm just one stubborn SOB and I'm going to fight this shit to the end. I will Keep everyone posted.

I've found the Kudzu to be quite effective, and without the side effects I got from Verap or Lithium.  If you don't have a good source give me a yell, and I'll give you the addy for mine.  (I ought to buy stock as many people as I've sent his way!)

I haven't seen anywhere near the amount of reports regarding the effectiveness of RC vs. Psilocybe as I have seen regarding meds and O2 etc., BUT.... based on my own experience and a few other cases I've seen ("Bonkers" being a prime example), my current impression is that the mushrooms can be more powerful, more effective clusterbusters than the seeds.

So since you're busting, and since I imagine you're ready for the big guns, I have to wonder if the mushrooms might be a direction to consider at this point for the 'ol preventative action?

CH according to Bejeeber:

Strictly relying on doctors for CH treatment is often a prescription that will keep you in a whole lot of PAIN. Doctors are WAY behind in many respects, and they are usually completely unaware of the benefits of high flow 100% O2.

There are lots of effective treatments documented at this site. Take matters into your own hands, learn as much as you can here and at clusterbusters.com, put it into practice, then tell this CH beast Jeebs said hello right before you bash him so hard with a swift uppercut knockout punch that his stupid horns go flinging right off.

Bill,

I'm a chronic type, but I do go through similar, very nasty high cycles in the Spring and Fall that make life miserable.  The attacks are fast rising, heavy hitting 7s & 8s that hit around the clock and take far too long to abort even with high flow rate oxygen therapy.

I know this sounds crazy, but when these killer high cycles hit I start a regimen of 3 to 4 calcium citrate tablets a day that also contain vitamin D3, magnesium and zinc washed down with three to four big glasses of margarita mix, homemade lemonade or limeade sweetened with Splenda.

In a matter of hours, the frequency and intensity of my CH drop like a rock and oxygen therapy goes back to its super effectiveness with 2 and 3 minute aborts...

I've also tried Baja Bob's sugar free margarita mix and found it to be even more effective.  This appears to be due to the extra citric acid.

A $5 packet makes a half gallon of sugar free margarita mix.

Joyce watches me like a hawk and has always been great spotting an attack minutes before I knew one was coming so issues the order...  "Get on your oxygen!"

Now when one of these pesky high cycles starts and she finds me clinging to one of my M-size oxygen cylinders more frequently and longer than normal... she issues the new order...  "Drink another margarita!"

A few others have reported favorable results with this regimen...

Take care,

V/R, Batch

Aw, Bill, I'm sorry to hear it's cranking back up for you.

First question - how old are your seeds?  If old, from your last cycle, a new fresh batch is in order.  Also, how are you storing them?  Get them out of the little plastic bag they come in - put in a small glass jelly jar with screw on lid and keep in the fridge.  They last much much longer and keep their potency.

As a seed user myself, I would recommend upping the dosage to 40 maybe 50 seeds every five days. Stay on it because it may take several doses before Mr. Nasty realizes you mean business.

Many people who make the rc "tea", drink only the tea.  You make sure you down the sludge in the bottom of the glass as well.  Sludge is our friend.  It's nasty, so follow up with a quick drink of water, but get that crap down.

Keep your O2 ready to go and hit that tank as soon as you know you are getting a hit.  For the shadows that love to just linger - energy drinks.

Hopefully, the beast will soon realize you won't play with him and go take a vacation somewhere else.

I did this regimen with my cycles - twice.  My last cycle was over four years ago using nothing but seeds, O2, and Red Bull.  I have been pain free ever since - where is a piece of wood - I need to knock it hard.  Even being pain free this long - I just re-ordered a fresh batch of seeds, and my tank is ready to rock and roll - although a little dusty.  I will never be without my tools.

Crossing everything I can cross that this cycle will be short and sweet for you.

Sandy

Bill I STILL think Batch is crazy... Wink......but 2/3 through this last cycle...an 8 monther....02 started to fail me...which had NEVER happened. I started Batch's regimen.....I took the combo 2-3X a day..within 30 hours the 02 was working again. Cheap, no side effects, I'd strongly encourage you to give it a shot.

Hello All,

Thanks for all the info..  Saturday night was the same way, I got 2 more hits that were both aborted with the 02, and both times took about 10 minutes to abort. ( scary) Sunday moring on wake-up 6am i got a kip 6 that i just "fought it off" and pounded the bottle of water next to me and i feel like i stole one from the beast.

So that made me look at the water tip again, i been trying it. The best i can anyway and it seems to have helped. Nothing since then.  My seeds are about 8 months old, i store then in the bag wraped in waxpaper, all that goes in a baggie then store in the cupboard. I will Do another batch on wensday, and see if i can bust this cycle within 2 weeks. A man needs to dream right?? I wish i could try the mushroom method but im not a green thumb and there is no cows in cleveland.

Im kinda out of the loop, But ya never know... I hope tonight is the same as last night...Pain Free, And i hope it will be the same for all you.  Coach Bill

I'm as cynical as they come but I'll officially vouch for the calcium citrate/citric acid combo.  I first tried it a couple weeks ago and my attacks just about completely stopped.  Of course I attributed it to the natural end of the cycle or O2 or taurine or melatonin or anything else I tried.  So I just took a trip and stopped taking calcium citrate and within 2 days the headaches are back.  I start taking it again on Friday and on Sunday night, no headache.  I'll cross my fingers tonight as I drink another glass of Minute Maid.

Hi Chaps and Chappesses.
I've been diagnosed with migraine induced CH after being knocked unconscious. Unfortunately It looks as if I'm in the chronic camp as I've never had a break from it. Getting the right treatment has been a bit of a struggle as I've only just got the Sumtripan injections and I can't take the Verapamil as I have really bad side effects from the pills. I'm really interested in the seeds? Can someone let me know what they are and where I can get them please? I'm not adversed to trying anything that will get rid of my constant companion.  Sorry for being a newby but if you don't ask I normally find you don't get.
Being the stupid, I'll give that a go type, there was a article in the press about Vitamins B6, B12 & Follic acid being good for alzheimer's as it effects the blood flow in the brain. So I wondered to myself perhaps it it would be good for my CH. Well I couldn't have been further wrong. What ever you do Don't take B6, B12 & follic acid together. Not only will it awake the devil he'll be having a rave, all hours of the day and night. I never slept for 5 nights. I only took the tablets once. I was a babbling wreck. It really intensified the CH. So I won't be doing that again.
But if someone could let me know about the seeds that would be great.
Cheers
Peter

Hi Captain Chaos and Welcome

You'll need to go to Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register and ask about that on their message board.

If you are looking for supplements that will help try Magnesium citrate and Vitamin D and add some margarita mix (with out the alcohol) to wash them down.

Best of Luck to you!

P.S. Adding melatonin or an over the counter allergy pill such as zyrtec (generic cetirizine) before bed will help avoid night time hits.

Hi Ginger
Thanks for really prompt reply and the sage advice, I'll be giving the night time supplement ago as this is a real problem for me. I've been surviving on Night Nurse to knock me out, which is not a good thing to do. Please tell me to go a way or ask the question elsewhere but reading all of the other posts from fellow suffers, having chronic CH I don't get the rest bite of no headaches between clusters, but I have found that the clusters of headaches follows a definite cycle of not so bad pain of 4-5 up to when it's really bad of 7-8 on the kip scale. I can't set the calendar by it but it's very regular and it doesn't vary from this. I've never been free of the clusters of headaches but conversely I've only experienced a 9 once. Is this normal for my type of CH? I'm afraid I don't know anybody else to ask as my GP knows diddly squat about this and I think that I've outstayed my welcome in his surgery.
Thanks in advance
Regards
C.C

Glad to be of Help CC and make sure you ask about the seeds at the site link I posted above.  Better yet Check out the O2 page and see if you can get yourself set up with O2 from your Doc.

Hey Captain, I'm episodic so I get distinct cycles. Other Chronics, Linda H comes to mind, have posted they have cycles within their chronic! They never go away but they go from annoying 3's and 4's back up to the heavy hitters, so yeah, you sound typical of chronics! (for what solace that's worth!) Wink

Even if you do go with one of the alternate treatments, do check out the 02. As I understand it, the alternatives require a "dry out" period where you need to detox off of meds. That would be a good time to have the 02 handy as it will work as well with traditional treatments as with the alternatives.

Hello All,

Thank you all for the well wishes.

An update, After a 2nd pain free night i was hit with 4 nights straight. The oxygen beat them all and on Thursday night i did seeds from a new batch. I have been pf for 4 straight nights, And that is gooood time in clusterville, Although i have been very shadowie today. I have a batch soaking right now.

I have started taking magnesium tablets 500mg daily for the last 2 days, Does anyone know if magnesium effects the clusterbuster methods. Thanks and as always i wish everyone a pain free night.
