Cluster and blood pressure
Jan 20th, 2011 at 6:28am

Hello you all,

Long time no talk. Hope you all great!!!

Well i have this high blood pressure problem. It always comes with the beast (but the cluster ache is not that serious as it been before).

Is there any connection between them?!

Love you all and have a great day.

Someone might come along with the proper medical data but as for me, when I get a hit, yup...my BP goes through the roof. Is it higher than usual before and after? Don't think so. Verpamil does a right good job keeping it down. Blessings. lance

Is there a causal relationship operating? No; have never seen such a suggestion in medical literature.

But when our mind and/or body is under stress/distress, BP will elevate and, under severe/prolonged episodes, this can damage our body. Over the last 20-30 years or so, there has been a stready run of studies outlining the complex processes involved so the evidence is well established.

If you're BP occurs independently of your CH, then the doc will/should treat it as a separate medical issue. IF the BP elevation appears to be a reaction to episodes of CH you may wish to consider this approach:

Currently I'm between the cycles.
When the BP rises i do feel like the beast is coming out again.. i do have headaches that feel as i have CH but not that strong as CH...
That's why i asked the questions if there any relations between two of them..  Smiley

Your last (#4) is not clear to me. But, would suggest, that if you don't have the classic intense pain of Cluster that you are not experiencing "cluster"--a "normal" headache, perhaps???

Also, with mild to moderate elevations in BP the majority of people don't experience a sensation which identifies the elevation. Sensation is usually notable if the BP is dangerously, life threateningly high.

I noticed everytime I got hit my bp would go through the ceiling and when it would go down to kip 1-4 my bp would be ok.  Since I got 8 hits a day and chronic my dr and I felt it best to go onto bp medicine.  I take a low dose of lisinopril.  I was told by my dr and dr in er that pain can and will raise bp.

I never had a BP issue in or out of cycle, went to the doctor during an attack and BP was almost normal,a little high but it was during an attack.
