Marketing gimmick. Awfully damned expensive.

I could possibly see keeping the large one (110 litres) for an emergency, but at a flow rate of 25 lpm, this would only last 4 minutes. And if the mask isn't a non-rebreather, well, you would have pissed away well over $100.

A medical grade E tank holds 6 times this much compressed O2, and is much cheaper.

Yeah I'm with Brew. Sounds like a gimmick to mark up the cost of 02 about 1000%. I don't know about your 02 prescribing rules over there but it appears a little tougher for you guys to get 02. I'd look at the welding oxygen route, many on the board have gone that route, it's cheap and is the same 02 they put in medical tanks. It would cost you s small fraction of twhat these guys are charging.

Hi Joe,
Will start making enquires re welding route then, and let you know the results....
I need some help as soon as I can get it. Its not the pain, it is the disruption to my sleep which is killing me when I am on shift work!

Even with flow rates that support hyperventilation, the average abort of a cluster headache with oxygen therapy is going to consume between 125 to 175 liters depending on the pain level and how soon you start.

I wouldn't wast my time or money on "pure oxygen in a can."

I've invested in 0 to 60 liter/minute regulators, an O2PTIMASK™ kit and a demand valve. They work very fast, are very effective, and here in the U.S., if you own your own regulators and mask, the monthly oxygen content costs are reduced significantly.

While I understand that in the UK Melatonin needs a prescrition from a doctor, over here it does not and is sold at grocery stores in the vitamin aisle. Melatonin really does help with the night-time hits, so maybe it is worth your while to ask your physician for a script for it.

Hi Batch,
I consider myself lucky enough to have had the Privilege and Honour to have flown
The de Havilland DH 82 Tiger Moth (Thanks Lindy!) for half an hour at Duxford...
I had only flown commercial before this flight and to be honest Batch, I was scared shitless for the first five minutes! It was after all, made in the '30's!
At the end I managed a banking turn to the right and, as we say here, "I was chuffed to mintballs"!
That was my one and only flight in a 'Real' Airplane!

Many of us shifties have found it's the swing shift that's the killer. Perhaps you can discuss it with the roster monster to work all nights, or all afternoons or whatever.

Anyway, what illiterate put the 'f' in shift-work to begin with?

Hi GaryW, GarryL here again.
My Wife couldn't bear seeing me rolling round the floor curled up crying like a baby anymore so she got onto CH.com (thanks guys) discovered the value of oxygen and bugged the hell out of the local surgery until they made a call to a neurologist. He immediately TOLD them to prescribe oxygen.
I currently got the proper re-breather masks and 4 - 2,500Lt tanks (i think that right, not quite sure how to read it) max flow 15l per min, usually get a couple of hours out of a tank. At its worst I was going thru a tank a day, gas company were brilliant delivery replacements within 24hrs.
Secondly, on 16th jan got a Neuro appointment booked on NHS for 7th feb, said yeah right, got my cheque book out and saw him next day
