I'm coming off my meds!
Mar 22nd, 2011 at 10:59pm

went to my wonderful headache specialist yesterday. He’s satisfied that my cycle appears to be over enough to take me off my meds. I’m coming off the topamax first, then the verapamil. Provided the CH don’t start up again during that time, then I can just enjoy the break. He said he will ALWAYS make time to see his CH patients within a day or two, so as soon as they come back I need to get back on the verapamil and call him (and the topamax if they come back before I finish getting off them).

He didn’t mention steroids, and I didn’t ask. I guess I should have, huh.

I just hope I can get through the next couple of weeks. It’s been almost 3 weeks PF. Last time I barely made it to 4.

On another note, he said he has a new CH patient, whose identical twin brother has had CH for a few years. They are one of only 3 known sets of identical twins in the world with CH. Amazing.

I can't believe that I have to bang my Head against this wall again. But the blows they have just a little more Space in-between them. Gonna take a breath and try again.

Wow, another in a string of recent reports of actual considerate doctors.  Shocked

His decency contrasts so much with the standard practice of headache specialists requiring CH patients in crisis to wait months for an appointment.

CH according to Bejeeber:

Strictly relying on doctors for CH treatment is often a prescription that will keep you in a whole lot of PAIN. Doctors are WAY behind in many respects, and they are usually completely unaware of the benefits of high flow 100% O2.

There are lots of effective treatments documented at this site. Take matters into your own hands, learn as much as you can here and at clusterbusters.com, put it into practice, then tell this CH beast Jeebs said hello right before you bash him so hard with a swift uppercut knockout punch that his stupid horns go flinging right off.

That's why I'm in love with him  Wink

If my boyfriend didn't feel secure in how much I love HIM, he would be really, really jealous of my headache specialist and my union rep at work (who is fighting off my horrible, horrible bosses who are acting like they want to string me up for taking time off work)
