Unpredictable...
Aug 22nd, 2011 at 12:18pm

I think that's what is bothering me the most right now.   I've had CH for a really long time.  Once I hit my twenties I could pretty much count on my cycles being predictable.  Spring and sometimes Fall, night time hits, mostly, with added hits during the day as the cycle progressed.  Alcohol would always trigger.  I, at least, knew what to expect and when to expect it.

Everything has changed now.  I've been in cycle since March.  I'm not getting hit near as frequently as I was for the first few months.  I'm thankful for that.  I'll go two weeks or so with nothing then, out of the blue, get hit.   I can drink  beer with no effect but can't seem to be out in the heat with out triggering a CH.    Other than that, there is really no predicting when I'll get a visit from our friend.

It's driving me nuts constantly having to have CH on my mind. I enjoyed the times of the year when I was pretty sure I wasn't going to need my 02 or my Trex.... when I wasn't ruining my family's vacation, or afternoon at the pool, or outing to a movie... or whatever.

Some people with such unstable CH have found it useful to stay on a preventive, e.g., Verapamil, 100% of the time.

This is the very reason any chronic will tell you that in some ways, it's easier to be chronic. At least I know when I'm going to get hit.

It doesn't surprise me that the pattern has been given a good shaking up. It would be that much more incentive for me to keep after it. It's exactly what happened to me as I was starting to experience success busting. A few more busts after I was in the place that you are right now and I was pain free for six months.

I guess I need to become as stubborn as my CH is being and stop letting it get to me.

If you aren't busting I would suggest a daily regimen of Kudzu.  It doesn't seem to have the side effects of Verap, but gave me the same or better relief than Verap and Lithium.  If you are going to bust it is not recommended for use.
