Water X 3
Dec 9th, 2011 at 1:23pm

I have just started back in cycle. I did a prednisone taper and am now on 240 mg of Verapamil. I tried the water x 3 for 4 days and now I can't hold water down. I have always been 9 in the morning and 9 at night. This week they have been scattered and no consistency. I had a level 8 at 3:20pm yesterday and took my imitrex shot, at 11:30pm it woke me up and I did my 2nd shot. Then 4:00 am up again (no more imitrex until 3:20) it was a 9 but lasted 45min or so. I normally don't throw up but I have thrown up every times. I have been having level 8 to 10 every hour or so all morning. Like shadows that don't know they shouldn't be so intense. I was up to 480 mg of verapamil several years ago and had to stop because my blood pressure dropped too low. I quit smoking 3 years ago and this is my first cycle since. I thought it was gone for good. I have O2 being delivered this afternoon and I can't lay down ever though I'm exhausted!! Has anyone had a reaction like this to the water x3 tip?
Could Verapamil be causing this?
I asked for another prednisone taper, but I just stopped my last on on Sunday. I don't know if I can get another one this soon.
Any advice welcome. Sorry for the rambling

As bad as it is, I've had to do more than one pred taper several times.

hoosierdaddy,

Excessive water use has never caused me to throw up, but to each his own.  Might avoid excessive water use and test the waters, so to say.

You stated you're off the Pred and only on Verap, right?

Verapamil can cause nausea and if it is persistent after other factors are ruled out, you may want to speak with your doc about your concern.

Sometimes when people get overly excited (angry, sad, etc) they throw up.  This is common among some, again; to each his own.

Here is an excerpt below copy/pasted from webmd re: Verap side effects.

"Dizziness, slow heartbeat, constipation, nausea, headache, and tiredness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

To lower your risk of dizziness and lightheadedness, get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position.

Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.

Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: swelling ankles/feet, shortness of breath, unusual tiredness, unexplained/sudden weight gain, severe dizziness, fainting, very slow heartbeat.

Tell your doctor immediately if any of these rare but very serious side effects occur: severe stomach/abdominal pain, dark urine, yellowing eyes/skin, persistent nausea/vomiting.

A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

This is not a complete list of possible side effects. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

In the US -

Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.

In Canada - Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to Health Canada at 1-866-234-2345."

I drink 3Lt of rainwater a day but there is a secret to drinking that much water, First you need to eat breakfast, Then sip (never just scull water as your body will only use a little bit the rest will end up blotting you and making you go to the toilet more) water all day till you go to bed, You will go to the toilet more in the first 3-4 weeks but after that your body will get used to it and you want go as much,

I also drink 500ml of freshly squeezed lemon juice a day. This will helps your liver to detox some of the med out. This is how I make it take 1 lemon and juice it add honey about 3 table spoons a pinch of salt and small half of a teaspoon of Cayenne Pepper extra hot. I use cold water but hot water is better.
