Should I start my preventitives?
Dec 16th, 2011 at 3:34pm

Greetings All,

I am somewhere in my very first cycle of Cluster Headaches.

I saw a Neuroligist (Headache Specialist) on Tuesday who prescribed Prednisone and Verapimil.

Several weeks prior to Tuesday I was getting hit anywhere from 6-12 times a day mostly at REM sleep. On Sunday of this week I began to notice a change and have just realized that I have not resorted to any of my abortive techniques, except for my driveway therapy once or twice and one can of energy drink for the past five days.

I was not able to get the prescriptions filled till late Wednesday evening and have been hesitant to start taking them, hoping and praying that this may be over.

Any comments or wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Blessings to all,

d

Sadly there's no for sure answer there. I go 2 weeks pain free and then ramp off my prevent to see if beasty is gone. With no real history to draw from, you're still in the guessing mode as far as how your cycles end. Get everything filled, keep it stocked, and then roll the dice. You might be coming towards the end.....Hoping that's the case.

"Somebody had to say it" is usually a piss poor excuse to be mean.
