Hello, I will be getting some Imitrex nasal spray soon & I was just wondering what some people's response to it has been, such as whether 5mg was enough, or 2- 5mg sprays or if you needed the 20mg. I really want to know how long it takes to work, if it has for anyone, compared to when you take a shot. I would much prefer the shots, of course, but unfortunately I am almost out, and glaxo will help with the nasal sprays, but not with injections on the patient asst. program. Thanks.

I don't have the imitrex spray, but I do have the Migranal spray...it's a DHE derivative. It takes about 15 minutes for me, but it's advantage (again for me) is it lasts about 24-36 hours in keeping the beast at bay, as opposed to about 6-8 hours when using the trex injection.
