What is sleep?

In answer to your questions, I have no idea, nor does anyone else.  Some have regular clockwork (or calanderwork) episodes, but many do not.  I hope you have a LONG (rest of your life) remission, but you have no reason to expect it.  I recommend you do all you can to enjoy the PF time and get yourself back on a regular schedule, and as you are doing so I also recommend you prepare yourself for the next go-round.  Hanging around here supporting others and keeping up with new things as they come along is a great way to be prepared for the next time rather than coming back in a panic trying to relearn what you need to do.

All the best, and enjoy!

Jerry

I'm with Jerry on this one. Last week I spent 3 days being shadowed. I won't say I got zero sleep, maybe 4 hrs over 3 days. Nut it seemed like the moment I decided to get some shut eye (tried taking a nap during the day....a testing the waters before I jumped in), I was nailed with a monster. I really hope for a life-long remission for you. As do I wish it upon everyone else. I know that we don't trust sleep....for good reason. If you get yourself 8 hours.....I'm very happy for you.

Like Jerry said, some have regular clockwork or calendarwork.

For more than 20 years, I could count on going into cycle every 18 months (give or take a month or 2).

Other than the odd "rogue" headache, I have been pain-free for around 8 years this time.  I don't have any idea why they went away, but I'm not arguing.

The odd thing is that my sleep-cycle is as screwed-up as ever.  I've seen a sleep specialist and they were amazed.  The first night, I didn't sleep at all.  The second night, I woke up every 90 minutes like clockwork (just like when I'm in cycle).

Go figure!

It almost seems as if a CH partially starts to the point where you get woken up, but before the trigeminal nerve kicks off its response to trigger the CH pain. Very interesting...
