There is hope

Hi,
I am hear to tell you about a miracle....after 44 years of CH cycles...one month a year, every single year, (I called it "headache month"), I actually went 4 years with NO CH!

No explanation, Except that the last cycle lasted 10 weeks instead of 4 and perhaps I paid my dues for a few years in advance.Unfortunately, they are back and I am in hell again.  I need support.

I bought magnesium today.  I heard that 400 mg a day helps with blood flow and headache.

Welcome to the board, magnesium is a small component of the newest and greatest thing around here, it's had me pain free for over 3 years, after 30 plus years of episodic:

Follow this link to the medications section of this board and read the post

It’s a vitamin/mineral/fish oil supplement, all over the counter stuff. It’s up to an 81% success rate of those who try it and respond to the survey so you’re just shooting yourself in the foot if you don’t give it a shot.  Best of all, it’s healthy for you even without CH!

As of January 20, 2013, the compiled raw data indicates an efficacy of 80%. 240 out of the 300 CH'ers who have started this regimen and stayed on it for a month or more have experienced a significant reduction in the frequency and severity of their CH... 78% of the 300 CH'ers experienced a pain free response and 60% of the 300 have remained essentially pain free. Episodic and chronic CH'ers respond to this regimen at roughly the same rate.

Preliminary survey results indicate most of these CH'ers were pain free before the end of the third week with some responding in a little as 12 to 24 hours. The average time to respond is five days

"Somebody had to say it" is usually a piss poor excuse to be mean.

Joan, that's the way of the beast. It is a heartbreaker for sure. Just as you think you've got the bad beast by the tail it turns on you and attacks with greater ferocity. We all know the pattern. We also know the pain of disappointment. It sounds as if there are some newer methods and techniques of which you may not be aware, so I would encourage you to read as many posts (current and past) as you are able, and take notes, and ask questions. We're here to help. God bless. lance
