Cluster headaches with no clusters?
Jun 29th, 2014 at 8:26pm

Hi,

For 14 years I suffer from headaches that last from 15 minutes to 4 hours (very rarely shorter or longer). The Headaches is always in the left side of my head, focused behind the eye but as the time goes it also radiate to my left shoulder, my left side of the neck, the left side of the upper jaw, and my left nozzle. The eye gets red and watery and I get blocked or running nozzle.
The level of the pain is unlike anything else I've ever felt.
I also experience very strong sensitivity to light.

Alcohol triggers my headache very quickly, sometimes after 5 minutes, so I almost never drink.

When I have attack I'm not banging my head against the wall, and not crawling in the room.
Also, I don't have few attacks a day. Only two or three times a year I have two attacks in a single day, usually one at the morning and one at night.
However, the longest period I had without those headaches was 20 days. Usually I get an attack in every three days.

In my last post here (which was also my first) I ask you about energy drinks, which very help me. When I drink an energy drink when the attack starts (or even when I feel that it's going to start) the pain only last 10 minutes, and sometimes even doesn't start.

My diagnosis is very important to me, as I hope to find a long term solution for this problem. If you have any information that might confirm that I have CH or any other related headache, or if you think my case is something else, please let me know.

Thank,
Tal.

BTW, sorry for my broken English, I'm not a native speaker Wink

We can not diagnose you. This needs to be done by a doctor with good skills and experience in dealing with headaches, which is why we suggest people see a headache specialist.

I'll do it.
As many here mentioned that it took their doctors many years to diagnose their problem I hoped to get more clues about this issue.

Thanks anyway

G'day TalD, and welcome. As our good friend Mike suggests, this really must be looked at by an expert.

Let us know how you're getting on and we'll help you all the way.

It will help us to direct you to good sources of assistance if you will tell us where you live (city & state, if U.S. or country). At the Home page: Help button-->Edit & Profile --> Location. (This will add your location, just below your name, every time you post a message.

Next week I will meet my family doctor and ask her to see a headache specialist.
