Don't do it... It's not OK or safe...

Maxalt (Rizatriptan Benzoate), is a triptan-based cluster headache abortive and so is Imitrex (Sumatriptan Succinate).

There should be warnings on the label or literature provided by your pharmacist when you picked up these medication about taking either at the same time with other triptans.

Oxygen therapy if used properly and early is much safer and equally effective as a CH abortive...

Take care,

V/R, Batch

You love lots of things if you live around them. But there isn't any woman and there isn't any horse, that’s as lovely as a great airplane. If it's a beautiful fighter, your heart will be ever there

Don't do this, it is not safe. You should not mix your triptans.

For example, from the medication info for Maxalt issued in New Zealand:
Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register

Quote:
Other 5-HT1B/1D agonists (e.g., sumatriptan) should not be used concomitantly with
MAXALT/MAXALT MELT.

Note that Imitrex is a brand name for sumatriptan, as is Imigran.

From the sumatriptan info sheet:
Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register

Quote:
The concomitant administration of any triptan/5-HT1 agonist with sumatriptan is not recommended.

Always consult with a pharmacist / doctor if you have any doubts about what medication it is safe to use together.
