New trigger for me please help
Jul 25th, 2015 at 4:33pm

I was so happy because I finally made three days and nights in a row pain free and no CH attacks. I really thought my cycle was over. I woke up today feeling great so I sat outside by the pool. Although I was in the sun I wasn't too hot and was drinking iced tea. About a half hour into it I got hit with one of worst CHs yet. No warning. Thank God I was home. I immediately had to go inside. It's been hours and I'm still in pain. I can not even see out of my left eye. I now fear tonight. Does anyone know what could have set the beast off by being outside???

Just so odd because was never a trigger for me.  I've always been one to sit outside and never had a problem. I wonder if triggers change with each new cycle. I feel like I'm having more sensitivity every time.

It could have been the heat / humidity, but it could have just happened without any trigger.

CH is incredible in how it can change between cycles, so heat could be a new trigger for you.

I've gone a couple of days pain free when in a cycle, thinking the beast had gone home, and then got hit by a monster one, like he was making up for lost time.

I understand how you feel. I was so happy because I thought my cycle finally ended. I'm on a longer one this time but it's been an extremely humid summer this year. I thought that I could finally enjoy a drink again. Normally I love the summer but I'm hoping my cycle will end once this summer does.

There's also those of us with no known triggers at all, so perhaps it was going to happen regardless.

Were you wearing sun glasses?  Just a thought.. Sometimes too bright sunlight would set me off.. (and I have migraines also) so I don't even go out on the back porch without sunglasses.

Sorry it messed up your day.. But the beast is not predictable at all. Hope this was just his last stand and he will go away and let you enjoy the rest of the summer.  Kiss

Maybe even coulda been cause you were kicking back and relaxing. Midday slow downs have often been deadly for me, in fact I get hit frequently at lunch time at work..... when I'm kicking back and doing nothing but sitting.

Indeed.

After spending 15 years working methodically to find triggers, I found that they will come, when they come.

Marc,

Totally agree....No triggers for me either...beast just does his own thing whenever he feels like it.

Something I have found kinda strange with me is that just about any amount of green or black (especially black) tea is pretty much guaranteed to trigger my clusters.  A few other leafy green herbals do the same (most of them seem to have a high tannin content).  I've been avoiding any amount of the Camellia sinensis plant for almost 10 years now.  May or may not relate to your situation.

It could of been the chlorine that has set me off many times.

Falling asleep – nap or bedtime is the sure trigger for me and the only one I can absolutely identify.

No known triggers for me either. Could it have been your iced drink - like brain freeze.
