The deaths are unfortunate, I agree, but I'd be interested to see a similar list showing the number of lives these same medications have saved.

As a forty year CHead I can put my hand up for a few of them.

Brian,

Good question...  Unfortunately I don't think there's a good answer to how many lives have been saved by the drugs with the highest number of reported deaths...

My hand is up as well having tried many of the mainstream standards of care CH preventatives...  None of them proved effective and all of them left me with onerous side effects that made me stop taking them.

I'm reminded of the following quote that appears to have some bearing on this topic...

"In the history of modern medicine, medical scientists have yet to discover a medical condition caused by the lack of a pharmaceutical agent that wasn't already found naturally in the human body..."

There is one class of man-made preparations, and I think you'll agree, that does more to raise one's sense of well being and satisfaction with life...  and that would be Beer and Ale...
