Invitation
May 16th, 2016 at 10:48pm

The CH community, and in particular, this site, have made what I am doing possible. When I found CH dot com in 98/99, I was in a very dark place. Had it not been for this site, I don't know if I would be here or not. I certainly would not be in the condition I am now, with the ability to deal with CH and life in general as I now can. In large measure, my new book is a consequence of what DJ started, and what so many here have nurtured that gave me my life back and made this possible. I am inviting all to join in the launch party for the book on Saturday, the 21st. It will be online, for so many of my CH family are around the world and could not possibly participate if I did it the traditional way in a bookstore. Besides, this way you don't have to dress up!  Cheesy

Thank you to those of you who have been there for me over the years, to those of you who encouraged me and purchased the book already. I love this family!

I know some of you don't do facebook, and I fully understand that. I'll miss you.  Wink There just wasn't another venue that works well for such a dispersed group.

All the best,
Jerry

Jerry,

Like Thierry, I don't use Facebook, but my admiration and congratulations go out to you.

The book was a great read and I wish you nothing but success with it.

It is said that there is a book in all of us. I, for one, don't believe it. There is a creative skill required to imagine a story and a disciplined gift in being able to tell it, that is given to a few.

Well done my friend. Enjoy the whole experience.

Peter.

Hi Jerry

I logged into FB for the first time this year and I hope to be there on Sunday (we're a day ahead).

Even if there is a story there, being able to turn it into a finished book takes not just creative skill, but a whole lot of hard work and determination.

Well done Jerry on having taken the idea all the way through to a published book.

Well since I use FB about once a year at the most, it took me a while to figure out quite how it worked, but after watching for a few minutes I realised it was more a case of multiple people all posting messages and replies to the same page for a couple of hours.

Not sure how many people were there, but there were quite a few posting with different topics related to the book plus similar areas, led by someone who I assume was from the book publisher.

Thanks so much, for the great comments. The launch went well, and Mike, I certainly appreciate you being there for me. For those who don't know, which is most, Mike was one of my early beta readers, having to read through the book in its rawest form, and he gave me some excellent feedback that I incorporated into the final product. That's why his name is in the acknowledgements. Smiley And Mike, it was much appreciated.

Thanks, Thierry! I knew it was available in the UK, but I didn't know book depository had it listed. I can put them on my list of places to purchase, now. So, thanks on two accounts! I hope you enjoy my tale!

Online launches have become more popular over the last couple of years with the phenominem of self-publishing locking a lot of authors out of bookstores. Because my launch got moved up a month, I was unable to arrange a traditional launch, and then I got to thinking many (most) of my friends are clusterheads and not in the area anyway, so I decided to open the festivities a little wider than a store could accommodate. The support and encouragement I have received from this community is what made the book possible in the first place and I am profoundly grateful to all of you. Smiley Smiley

Peter, thanks for the kind words, my friend. I was in hopes you would enjoy it.

If anyone would like to give me a review on Amazon.com or on Goodreads.com it would be greatly appreciated. Even if you don't like it, saying so will be helpful. It gives people the idea the reviews weren't all written by my mother and children.  Grin

Thanks again so very much for the support and encouragment. I love this family!
